AG-51_Razor Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 It would be awesome for mission builders to be able to select from several spawn points on the carrier deck, much like we don now for spawn points at an airfield. Aslo, I placed an Mi-8 on the Tarawa and when the mission started, I was falling into the sea. Donut Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 What are normal procedures for sorties off a ship like the Tawara? Rolling vertical takeoff and vertical landing? Any idea of gross weights for the RVTO? I know I saw a limitation for vertical landings around 20,000lbs Here is a video showing flight ops from the USS Iwo Jima. https://fightersweep.com/9208/picture-day-marine-corps-av-8b-harrier-takes-off-uss-iwo-jima/ i5 7600K @4.8GHz | 1080 Ti | 32GB 3200MHz | SSD | DCS SETTINGS | "COCKPIT"
BritTorrent Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 To any of the RAZBAM guys, are you planning to add ramp start locations on the actual ramp behind the island eventually? Rather than on the 'runway'. The runway location is fine for hot starts, but it would be cool to have to taxi around a bit using the high gain NWS mode.
Robinvand Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 And how about starting internally making use of the elevator to get up on the flight deck? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Tread_Head57 Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 And how about starting internally making use of the elevator to get up on the flight deck Pilots usually meet the aircraft on the ramp. They rarely, if ever, ride the elevator from the hangar deck.
Schmirco Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Four parking slots behind the island and two slots in front of the island for helos would be awesome.
Scrape Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 It may seem small but the closed doors on the deck create this feeling that no one is home. "It's amazing, even at the Formula 1 level how many drivers still think the brakes are for slowing the car down."
[Knight] Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 (edited) I agree the spawns need to be changed for multiplayer, having them start on the flight line creates too many conflicts on a multiplayer server, like in the pic below. There also needs to be a limit of harriers that can spawn at once so that they don't spawn on top of each other. Scrape Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Not sure why they went with a flightline spawn. A parking spot spawn would be much much better. People know how to taxi and it will give everyone time to figure themselves out instead of getting spawn on top of while starting up. Also the MP servers assign too many slots to the carriers in the first place when there aren't that many slots available. The aft section to include the elevator should be spawn locations. The front should remain open for aircraft that arrive to have a safe place to refuel and rearm. That's my two cents. As of right now the Tarawa is very WIP so I think we need to just wait out and see what happens with it. I expect we'll see many improvements in the months to come.
Zulu Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Anyone else having problems staying on Tarawa? I seem to slide backwards almost every time I'm on, and that's with brakes on full plus parking brake. To INVENT an Airplane is Nothing. To BUILD One is Something. But to FLYis EVERYTHING. - Otto Lilienthal [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Winterz Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Anyone else having problems staying on Tarawa? I seem to slide backwards almost every time I'm on, and that's with brakes on full plus parking brake. I slided multiple times after landing on the ship. Quite embarrassing. :noexpression:
reilar Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 (edited) If the ship is moving you will slip backwards if you apply brakes or the parking brake. It seems that the brake force in some way are related to the ground and not the ship. Probably related to this: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=196922 Edited December 3, 2017 by reilar

Schmirco Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 Throttle up a little bit and push the wheelbrakes again. Seems its a bug.
Looney Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 Ha, the FW are now experiencing what the RW did al those years. In DCS, a ship is currently not a moving platform but a moving part of the ground, you'll simply slide off as the ground is moving underneath you. It was fixed in a openbeta 1.5.7, I did several landings with a Mi-8 on moving ships, even up to 25 knots without problems. No idea if this bug has resurfaced. flo57100 Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 2 things that would be veeeeeeeeeery helpful on this great ship: - A TACAN station (if the real ship has it or any radionav device, of course ) - A lighted flight deck (just landed after a night mission, if not able to display FLIR on HUD, I wouldn't be able to see anything out there ) Oh, an other thing, thank you razbam, thanks to you my airplane doesn't slide out of the deck anymore when doing my coldstart :megalol:
Winterz Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 I hope the ship will be populated at some point.
