Belphe Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 Hi, Me and my friend have been flying the A-10C over Nevada last couple of days admiring it's complexity and might, trying to learn a thing or two in the meantime. Would you please try to resolve the issues I listed below for us? 1. When the AGM-65 is tracking an area on the ground and I flip the Master Arm switch to SAFE and back to ON it loses the track and is no longer ground stabilised. Also, the Autopilot switches off for a moment allowing the nose to drop a little but then climbs back to altitude. Is this normal? 2. I mapped the Main Wheel Brake (W) to my HOTAS Warthog Pinkie Lever for equal braking but when I press it the aircraft gets pulled slightly to the left. I have the TGP and ECC Pods loaded on the opposite sides for balance. Why is this still happening? 3. I have created a simple test flight from Nellis but for some reason I cannot get any requests fulfilled by the ground crew (rearming, refuelling, folding the ladder, etc.). Instead, I'm hearing some Morse Code signals all the time. Can you assist? Thanks in advance! Never say never, Baby! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
kylekatarn720 Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 (edited) 1. is not autopilot but pac engaging on and off with master arm 2. It shouldnt drift to either side when anti-skid is on 3. Morse code signals should be from ils or tacan and im guessing you are using the wrong radio or wrong frequency to contact ground crew Try switching easy comms on and contacting ground with that on. If it works like that, then you are doing something wrong with the radio. Edited December 17, 2017 by kylekatarn720
Emmy Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 3. For some unknown reason, A-10C spawns with ILS turned on and volume turned up. Turn it off and the Morse Code should go away. RodBorza Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 2. Do you have Nosw Wheel Steering engaged? Maybe you forgot to do that before taxiing? This is an amazing sim! 'Nuff said!:pilotfly: YouTube: SloppyDog
Yurgon Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 1. I didn't find anything in the manual about the Mav losing ground stabilize after cycling Master Arm. Good question! According to the manual (and my experience), Master Arm must be in either ARM or TRAIN in order for the Mav video to be displayed. However since the seeker is gyro stabilized, this doesn't necessarily mean that it'll lose its ground stabilize when cycling the video. My best guess is that it's correctly modeled, but I'm not sure. As for the pitch up/down, like kylekatarn720 said, it's actually PAC engaging/disengaging. This happens when both Master Arm and Gun Arm are set to the ARM and GUN/PAC ARM positions. The change in elevator pitch happens to ensure that the SAS has enough authority to stabilize the aircraft's pitch when the gun is fired. 2. I mapped the Main Wheel Brake (W) to my HOTAS Warthog Pinkie Lever for equal braking but when I press it the aircraft gets pulled slightly to the left. I have the TGP and ECC Pods loaded on the opposite sides for balance. Why is this still happening? In my experience, the aircraft easily veers left or right during braking, even when braking power is applied evenly. Remember that the nose wheel is slightly offset because of the gun placement. I wouldn't worry about it, it's quite normal. Just use differential braking or NWS to counter the effect, and only use wheel brakes at relatively slow speed (< 70 KTS) unless you really need them. 3. I have created a simple test flight from Nellis but for some reason I cannot get any requests fulfilled by the ground crew (rearming, refuelling, folding the ladder, etc.). Instead, I'm hearing some Morse Code signals all the time. Can you assist? Do you start the aircraft hot? Like FlyingPhotog said, hot start from ramp and runway always sets both TACAN and ILS to the departure field if available (or was it ILS only, but not TACAN? Well, at least one of them is set to on anyway ;)). That's the Morse code you're hearing, but it has exactly nothing to do with the ground crew. :smartass: In order to contact the ground crew, you have to either... - open the canopy - set the Rotary Selector Dial on the Intercom Control Panel to the INT position
Belphe Posted December 27, 2017 Author Posted December 27, 2017 Thank you all very much for your assistance! Never say never, Baby! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
