docWilly Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 On one MP server I realized that normal starting procedures did not work as expected (engine spooling but no indication on gauges nor rotor movement). Weather set to winter with -10 deg Celsius and a slight wind crosswind. After asking for ground power start-up wa normal...BUT when asking the groundcrew to disconnect GPU I get no reply and nobody´s disconnecting the GPU (maybe they all went away to have a cup of coffee?). Honestly... I have no clue if something broken (bug) or if I missed a step. The indication EXT PWR stys lit (unable to cancel the "warning") but you can take off without groundcrew complaining. Doors open, communication to ground crew, radio on etc. Anyone else this experience or an idea what is wrong with that? Robert31178 Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 (edited) Do you have a "Pilot Radio ICS" button mapped? Once the helicopter is spooled up I use that instead of the / key. Also, the light on the enunciator panel stays on frequently for me until sometime after I take off. ~Rob Edited December 22, 2017 by Robert31178
Kang Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 As Robert31178 said, once the engine is running you need to use the interphone to talk to the ground crew. You can use your regular radio trigger if you set the radio selector knob to '2'. Also, after the ground crew acknowledges your request of ground power off, wait a short moment until they actually do that. They should come back on the interphone and say 'Ground power is now off'.
Rogue Trooper Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 (edited) Yes, as soon as the chopper is screaming noise from those superb engines, the ground crew can no longer hear you. This seems to be true with all DCS choppers.... (gazelle?). Switch to interphone or ICS on the choppers main radio channel control to ensure direct ground crew comms. This came in to DCS world as standard a few months ago.
