Swap an EVGA Z270 with Z370...Will it boot?

So normally, I just do a clean install of Win10. But I'm feeling a little lazy. I'm thinking of just swapping the MB (so 7700K to 8700K and Z270 with Z370) with everything else staying the same.

 

So, will it boot? Or should I take the time to uninstall everything (Camtasia, Ultraedit, Acronis, O365 and do a fresh install?

I carried my10 install over from Z170-->Z270-->ZZ370

 

Deinstall the drivers and specialties, thats it.

 

If you know what you do, this is 1-2-3 done.

 

 

DEACTIVATE DCS before ! Tho it did not get the Z170->Z270 change back then but punishes you for tinkering with the RAM on a bad day

Windows 10 won't bloody activate for me after Hardware changes. Grrrrr been a bad experience for me this last build. I had it linked AFAIK. Better check Han

tie it to your ms account, install w/o key and if it wont activate then use the troubleshoot wizard and choose " i changed my hardware recently ", that will take you to your ms account, with all 10 listed that you own under that email. click the one old pc which lic you want to use and say, "use this pc's lic".

I replaced the motherboard of my wife's computer recently. Did not touch any drivers. Windows 10 booted without any problems and installed all needed drivers. Only needed to go through phone activation (no digital license).

Few days ago I done the same with the Windows 7 computer of wife's parents.

you could probably sysprep it first before the board swap, might make things go easier
