Veritech Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 One type of ground unit that we are missing are the infantry manned ATGMs. Examples are the Milan (all versions, 1, 2, 2T and 3), the TOWs (all versions), the Javelin, the Russian 9K111 Fagot, 9M113 Konkurs, and the 9M133 Kornet. Giving the fact that we already have attack helicopters for some time and we have more coming, it would add more depth to a ground war. An entrenched infantry company equipped with 4 ATGMs can give a headache to an advancing armored unit. PS: Ground units in general are lacking diversity. We definitely need more types like Challenger I, more Leopard 2 and 1 variants, Russian tank variants or types altogether (i.e. T-64) and more support units (i.e. engineer bridging type), and command subversions of AFVs present on the Soviet/Russian side. 3 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "Alis Aquilae Aut Pax Aut Bellum" Veritech's DCS YouTube Channel

Northstar98 Posted January 4, 2021 Posted January 4, 2021 +1 awesome idea. OP basically nails it on the head, it would be great to have more infantry units and the more ground vehicles. The only thing I will say is it's probably for the best if all the current ground units are upgraded to a common standard before adding completely new ones, right now it seems that while we're getting new units (such as the T-72B3 obr. 2016, BTR-82A, and ST-68U) the older, legacy units are getting left behind. Given that however, I'd love to see more infantry units (preferably with as many variations as possible, or even better be customisable). With AT teams I'd love for there to be not just man-portable ATGMs (preferably with different equipment that's period specific), but also things like recoilless rifles such as the Carl Gustav M2 (or above) or SPG-9. 1 Modules I own: F-14A/B, F-4E, Mi-24P, AJS 37, AV-8B N/A, F-5E-3, MiG-21bis, F-16CM, F/A-18C, Supercarrier, Mi-8MTV2, UH-1H, Mirage 2000C, FC3, MiG-15bis, Ka-50, A-10C (+ A-10C II), P-47D, P-51D, C-101, Yak-52, WWII Assets, CA, NS430, Hawk. Terrains I own: South Atlantic, Syria, The Channel, SoH/PG, Marianas. System: GIGABYTE B650 AORUS ELITE AX, AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Corsair Vengeance DDR5-5200 32 GB, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070S FE, Western Digital Black SN850X 1 TB (DCS dedicated) & 2 TB NVMe SSDs, Corsair RM850X 850 W, NZXT H7 Flow, MSI G274CV. Peripherals: VKB Gunfighter Mk.II w. MCG Pro, MFG Crosswind V3 Graphite, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro.
nighthawk2174 Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 +1 This would be super important for Dynamic campaigns as well. If infantry are to serve any purpose at all in the face of armor they need AT weapons. Both portable (AT4, javelin) and deployable Kornet/Tow. 1

Edited January 7, 2021 by Dragon89 Forgot to add images of T-64 2
QuiGon Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 +1 @Dragon89 Those are some really cool pictures! 2 Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
