BrzI Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Trying to use the communication to wingmen. I can hear them but it seems like they do not hear me. Therefore I cannot command them Did I miss something or is this a bug ? Thanks

grunf Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 You're most likely transmitting on a wrong radio :D. By default, your flight is on the UHF radio ("Aux.") channel 1, try it.
baltic_dragon Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Yeah, as the guys say - you may be on a correct freq on one of the radios, so you can hear the wingmen, but you use the wrong one to send your traffic to them. you can see which radio you are using for transmitting in the white menu - top right corner of the screen. BrzI Posted January 15, 2018 Author Posted January 15, 2018 Ok. Figured it was something like that. Will try when I get home. Thanks folks. Gotta say - she is a nice bird...
sedenion Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 A remark here: It would be appreciable that such thing were alreadly correctly set at mission start, specially for missions with hot start. I know the "Clickable cockpit argument", but not everybody are happy to spend few minute each time at mission start by playing with POV hat (no track-ir) searching for switchs and buttons to pre-configure/enable: - Radio - Decoy program - D2M - IFF - Jamming - ILS This situation forces - if we don't want to spent time using POV hat and mouse click - either to maps commands on the HOTAS (what a waste of buttons), or invent some keyboard shortcut which must be remembered...
jojo Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Ok. Figured it was something like that. Will try when I get home. Thanks folks. Gotta say - she is a nice bird... it depends on "easy radio" option. With easy radio you can handle it like FC3 planes. "Easy Radio" off: you must set the proper frequency, and use one button specific to each radio to open the coms' menu. Mirage fanatic ! sedenion Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 it depends on "easy radio" option. With easy radio you can handle it like FC3 planes. So, this is a bug, because I experienced the same thing and I do enabled "Easy coms"... I don't have digged the problem, I solved it by a strange workaround using the communication menu instead of the shortcut command... however, this may be an general DCS bug (not digged as I said).
Guest Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 What is D2M ? The missile launch detector (not RWR) that are installed behind the magics.
BrzI Posted January 16, 2018 Author Posted January 16, 2018 Mission to intercept phantoms. Both radios are on channel 1. Still no response from wingies...!?
Guest Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 Mission to intercept phantoms. Both radios are on channel 1. Still no response from wingies...!? Just tried the mission and it works fine.
BrzI Posted January 16, 2018 Author Posted January 16, 2018 OK...then you guys are doing something that is intuitively clear to you but not to me... Here is what I do. Make sure both radios are on channel 1. Take off and reach cruise altitude. Call up the radio command by pressing backspace key Select F1 for wing Select F9 to go formation Select say F3 to go trail What am I doing wrong ?
BrzI Posted January 16, 2018 Author Posted January 16, 2018 When I click the backslash key I only get UVHF. How do I switch to UHF ? No reference in manual or anything resembling radio selection in the communication section of the controls ..
myHelljumper Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 Try under the HOTAS category in the controls. Helljumper - M2000C Guru Helljumper's Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCK3rTjezLUxPbWHvJJ3W2fA
BrzI Posted January 16, 2018 Author Posted January 16, 2018 Figured it out by mapping to the HOTAS. Is there a way to select radios in the clickable cockpit ? Thanks

sedenion Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 This is a bug, and this is specific to M2000-C module: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3357396#post3357396
Guest Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 Sorry, I missed the part where you said it was in easy comms. In normal comms it works fine but you need to select the correct radio by hotas. Seems the bug exists only in easy comms.
baltic_dragon Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 I would strongly encourage to get rid of easy comms as soon as possible. You loose a lot of immersion with it! BrzI Posted January 16, 2018 Author Posted January 16, 2018 I was not using easy comms. Simply did not know : -that I had to switch between radios -how to actually do the switching Thanks for the help folks. On to my next topic. It will be a new thread.
baltic_dragon Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 You should get all the answers soon with the new manual :) I mean those not already answered here. myHelljumper Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 What we lose exactly except the need to select radio channel ?
