Hi Guys,

I have more data to report... I tried the 'workaround' as below:

GUI=

{

x = 0;

y = 0;

width = 7680;

height = 1440;

}

UIMainView = GUI

The above fixed the 'Label position problem', however it created horrible problems when shadows were turned on, where the shadows were in the wrong spot relative to the associated-shadowed-object -- kinda like what was wrong with the labels. With the above lua setting, you could turn off all shadows and then the shadow detaching problem does not happen, and labels look proper, but then your menus are still all out of proportion and text is in your blind spots to the left or right screens.

I have switched back to :

UIMainView = Viewports.Center

And will have to live with wonky smeared detached labels, because wonky smeared detached shadows was much worse.

Please fix labels DCS dev dudes. ;-)

2.5 is also bloody slow on multiple screens, 1.5.8 is 2x faster

Annoying.

I can confirm that the UIMainView hack does indeed fix the positioning of labels, but sadly screws up not just shadow rendering (as mentioned), but also the rendering of smoke markers :-(

All of which is insane - the UIMainView setting should have nothing at all to do with the rendering any of these things! Something is seriously screwed up in the depths of the code here!

Release version is identical code to open beta so that is why the problem is the same. Once open beta does another update then the two versions will be different.

OK. Thanks for that info.

Sooooo, which version should we be using? The open beta still, or the release?

A) do they both still work on the multiplayer servers?

B) will the updates be tested first on the open beta then ported incrementally to the release?

It seems to me that there is already improvements in the release because the load times on the multiplayer is faster and it seems to consume less RAM..... Which is all good as far as I am concerned.

A) Yes. It doesn't matter which one you join as it will hit the same instance until open beta updates again.

B) Yes. Open Beta could go through more than one update before it's updated on the release side.

Hi ebabil

As above, this problem is now fixed in the open beta version 2.5.1

I guess it will be updated in the release version in due course.
