TrackIR not as smooth in 2.5 as 2.2 and 1.5.8

Hi Goa, have you tried setting ”maximum preferred frames” to 1 in NVCP?

I have also GSYNC enabled (full screen only) and VSYNC set to application controlled in NVCP. VSYNC is disabled in game settings. With these my TrackIR works without stuttering.

If ”maximum preferred frames” is set to default or anything other than 1, TrackIR is not smooth on my comp.

In your previous post, you hinted that you are using 165 hz monitor overdrive. That may be causing problems with TrackIR. Try setting it to 144hz or disable it for testing purposes.

I am using 144hz on my Asus PG279Q.

I am using 144hz on my Asus PG279Q.

I've tried all possible settings/combinations:

-gsync on/off

-refreshrate of monitor change from 60/80/100/10/144 to 165 fps

-fps limiter 60/80/100/120/144

-tried all usb port with only trackir connected and all other devices unplugged

-reinstalled OS already 7 times

-resintalled DCS 2.5 as many times as OS

-all drivers/chipset/gpu updated

In any scenario my trackir always got stutters, if I disable it, the game is perfectly running smooth.

Try tweaking your trackir settings

I get stutters if it's speed is too high anything above .7 and if the templates are set to anything other than smoooth,

sometimes when there's Game updates for TIR it'll resets itself back to ONE:ONE and it gets jumpy as hell when going in game without changing it back to smooooth

I just read elsewhere in here that one guy fixed it with enabling the Nvidia Overlay in NV_experience. You may wanna give that a shot too.

I use that overlay as well and I dont have that stutter, actually never had.

Man could you please tell me at what refresh rate you play and how much you set max fps?

Thanks:thumbup::)

So have maybe another try for u. But this can cause some problems for other programs which u may have so be aware of that.

Go to your Apps where u can delete programs.

There in the list look for the Microsoft Visual C++ 20XX Redistributable Apps.

I had recently installed Autodesk programs on my pc which also installed several version of the Microsoft Visuals. As they were installed i noticed some really microish stutters. Then i deleted all which comes with the Autodesk installation and i noticed a much smoother behaviuor in DCS.

At the moment i ended up with following installed versions left:

Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributables

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributables

Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 Redistributables

Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributables

U also maybe need to Repair your TrackIr5 Software and then it will install the required Microsoft Visual C++ version because TrackIR need also the Microsoft Visuals.

With these left Versions i can run DCS and TrackIr5. Maybe when after removing the Visuals your Yostick Software or something else isnt working and do a repair and it will install the required Visuals.

Dont know if this will help u but maybe u can give it a try.

I dont edit the autoexec file, default value.

My Monitor is set to 144Hz, NVpanel is set to HighPerformanceMode and Gsync. That is all I change.

My TiR profile is the default slightly changed, no special settings.

I do set my NV-Exp settings, FPS, Streaminfo etc for the 4 corners of the screen.

I usually UNLOAD all apps I can but I do not stop default services or such. On the other hand, I start a lot of apps to monitor DCS, so there is a whole lot going on when I run DCS. MSI AFterburner, HWinfo, SRS, TS, Occulus if VR, NV-Exp, etc..

It makes me wonder why some with beefy machines have stutter while others have not.

My TiR is connected to a USB20 as Rift uses all my 3ers.

so what about vsync?

is it on or off? in game or nvcp?

how many fps do you get?

The problem i have is simple: if fps are stable at 60 or 120 trackir has no stutter/jerky moment when paning/viewing aronund.

If fps are between 60 and 120 (stable or not stable makes no difference) then trackir is stuttering/jerky, the movement is something like this ..... instead of _______

how many fps do you have in game? Is is msaa or or off??

Gsync !

i do not use any other sync method but gsync, they are all unchecked.

I have checked with many different settings, msaa of to msaa8x, with and without DS, 16xAF always,

my fps are lowest 65 with all-in and anywhere between 80 and 160 when using tuned settings.

FPS depend highly on scene and aircraft, desert vs. vegas, bf109 vs ka50

ok so vsync is off in game?

we basically have the same monitor (mine is the updated 165hz pg278QR) so I really don get why my trackir is stuttering.I am also using usb2 directly on the motherboard,this thing is driving me crazy.

I am gonna post a video so you can see the stutter I am talking about.

Would be someone kind to test also the deleting of the Microsoft Visuals thing which i mentioned some threads earlier.? Would be nice to know if that works or not

Hi mate thaks for the advice however I am running a fresh OS installation, anyhow i unistall all microsoftt visual things, run a trackir repair, and still got the same problem.

Track ir is only smooth at 120(or above) fps or 60 stable, anything between 60-120 fps would result in not smoothness movement when panning.

TrackIr works smoothly if V-sync is enabled, but only if you have a fixed 60 fps (depends on the monitor). If it falls it starts jerking.

It's smooth also at stable 120fps or higher, any value between 60-120 would generate jerky movement when panning.

If trackir is disabled everything is smooth as silk.

Vsync is always enabled when I play (otherwise I would get tearing) but the problem is not vsync related.

I've order a pci-e usb cars with a fresco logic controller ( the same reccomended for oculus rift) , maybe the bug I have is due to intel usb 3.0 extensible controler issues with trackir, this is the last attempt, if its not gonna work I'll give it up.
