Moafuleum Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 Hi Please see the screenshots below. The sun shines through some parts of the cockpit. I have another question. One, that puzzles me since the module was released. I very much like the effect of the cockpit lights the Viggen has, especially the three green autopilot lights. In particular i mean the glare effect, that the lights seem to be cigar-shaped due to the dazzling effect of the pilot's eye. However I was wondering if this effect should follow the head's rotation when I rotate may head with TrackIR. I mean, the effect is created within my eyes and not by the light itself, right? Currently the glaring effect is fixed with respect to the cockpit frame.
Emmy Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 Cockpits are often made up of modules so light leaks are not unusual. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://www.476vfightergroup.com/content.php High Quality Aviation Photography For Personal Enjoyment And Editorial Use. www.crosswindimages.com
Moafuleum Posted February 7, 2018 Author Posted February 7, 2018 Hi Kingsnake Great video!, However I think the scene in the video doesn't show the same phenomenon. I think what you see is just the reflection from the upper panel surface. Due to the reflection's brightnes, it appears as a spot underneath but i think it actually isnt. Edit: maybe we hear a note from the devs whether it's intended or not :)
Shadow KT Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 Uhm, is it just me or on the screen that op has posted , the circle of the sun circle CLEARLY is in light of sight in his current view postition 'Shadow' Everybody gotta be offended and take it personally now-a-days
Texac Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 That is normal and looks fairly realistic to me. I just looked outside of my window while the very bright sun just shines around the corner, but.. don't.. look for to long into the sunlight. The other part that shines through below seems like a glitch. - My Skins/Liveries - Improved F-16C Texture Template • Texac on YouTube •
Moafuleum Posted February 7, 2018 Author Posted February 7, 2018 (edited) Uhm, is it just me or on the screen that op has posted , the circle of the sun circle CLEARLY is in light of sight in his current view postition I don't mean the actual sun spot in the screen shots. I mean the white light spot that appears just above the green autopilot lights^^ The sun itself does indeed look realistic. I DID mean the "glitch" that Texac refers to. Knock-Knock Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 I believe its the mesh for the lights overlay you see there. After DCS went Deferred, many of those textures seemed to fire of speculars/reflect light, when they werent fully black, I guess. - Jack of many DCS modules, master of none. - Personal wishlist: F-15A, F-4S Phantom II, JAS 39A Gripen, SAAB 35 Draken, F-104 Starfighter, Panavia Tornado IDS. | Windows 11 | i5-12400 | 64Gb DDR4 | RTX 3080 | 2x M.2 | 27" 1440p | Rift CV1 | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS | MFG Crosswind pedals |
