carss
I think the F/A-18 alone opens doors for so many new AI assets in DCS. For instance for the RAAF Hornets: E-737 AWACS KC-707 KC-30A (Airbus A330 MRTT) Or for Spanish Hornets: AI Eurofighter Typhoons Airbus A400M These are just a couple of thoughts I had for asset ideas for the F/A-18. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Planes: FC3, P-51, F-86, F-5E, Mirage 2000, F/A-18, F-14, F-16, Mig-19P :joystick: ED pls gib A-4 and F-4
CodenameSection
If we're talking about aircraft to support the Hornet then Drogue Baskets for the already existing KC-135 would be a good start, alternatively a KC-10 could also work...
Vitormouraa
I don't think ED should make any of the units listed above. With an exception of the tankers even then we already have tankers in DCS. These other units are useless in terms of supporting the module. Keep in mind that making these AI aircraft costs money, a nice/ well-done 3D model of any aircraft above isn't very simple to make. And they would take resources for no reason. The Hornet already has the E-2D Hawkeye aircraft, plus the E-3 in case you need something bigger, we already have the KC-130 and KC-135 which can also support the Hornet. AegisFX
If anything, the Hornet opens up: Coastal anti ship defenses Naval air bases and ports that ships can dock at F-18E/F escort tanking and an escort tanking AI task. (Imagine being hit, leaking fuel. Nearest tanker is called, gives you fuel while flying back to base) Supply and replenishment overhaul so oil tankers and military cargo ships are sent from shore to ship or reverse as supplies are moved. Different, perhaps localized damage for naval ships. Bonus if this affects airports, like knocked down towers mean no ATC, beacons destroyed, etc. Carrier based cargo planes SAM logic that pairs with AGM-88 missiles. Emergency arresting gear at airports. Overall, I think the Hornet asks more for a general overhaul more than addition of totally new assets. Though I certainly don't mind! The arresting gear at airports should already be a thing in NTTR although I don't think it's implemented yet [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Planes: FC3, P-51, F-86, F-5E, Mirage 2000, F/A-18, F-14, F-16, Mig-19P :joystick: ED pls gib A-4 and F-4
