flyco Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 I have been unable to get the AV-8B to contact a JTAC. When I select the message giving my time on task, nothing happens. I have tried on VHF 134 MHz, but I am unable to change the AM to FM on the Mission Editor radio set up to use my normal FM frequencies. Had anyone any info on how to use a JTAC, or will we have to wait for it to be released at some future date.
Capn kamikaze Posted April 5, 2018 Posted April 5, 2018 Make sure you use the FAC-Engage Group command in the ME, not Assign Group.
flyco Posted April 5, 2018 Author Posted April 5, 2018 Thanks for the tip Cap’n. I’ll give that a try.
Doum76 Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 No issues on my side at all, even when using Assign Group, just make sure you're using an HMMWV TOW, as for comms for now i'm using EASY COMM in menu since AV-8B radios are not working if i am not mistaken, so doesn'T change much. In any cases, if you are using 2.5, here my two main mission i use, nothing fancy, just do what i want to do when i fly. but it'll give you an exemple of simple JTAC setup. One mission for NTTR and one for Caucasus, try it and see if it works, if it doesn'T work, there's might be an issue on your side. Hope it'll help.CAUCAS_TRAIN_0218.mizNEVADA_TRAIN_0218.miz
Xxx Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 (edited) Try the ctldJTAC autolase. Here is a video and links to the download. This works in the 2.5 release DCS World, The JTAC autolase is superb and acts like a RW JTAC. Once you destroy a target, the JTAC will re acquire another for you! Edited April 8, 2018 by Accipiter Typo [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]i7 Haswell @ 4.6Ghz, Z97p, GTX1080, 32GB DDR3, x3SSD, Win7/64, professional. 32" BenQ, TIR 5, Saitek x55 HOTAS. Using CTLD feels more like a video game, drop bomb and be 500% it'll be on target, no « what if i released too late, i'm gonna miss target » i wouldn't even be surprised you could even drop the bomb looking 90 degrees away from your CCRP vertical line and CCRP release queue never showing and your GBU-12 would still be on target.

Actually the guy with the laser set nowadays will switch targets as they are destroyed without you asking him to. He will data link you with the next target coords and the laser code (if he's switched) and you just continue to plink away. It's more like, as you say, a "video game". That's what is being simulated the CTLD program. In the M2k there is no laser spot tracker, so you have to be accurate with the drop. If not the LGB won't be inside the cone and you get a miss. A nice mission to use this in is my " Mission not impossible" (user files). You can drop above the clouds deck, on to the lat/long and the LGB will pick up the cone provided your flying is accurate. :smilewink: The nice thing is this works well in 2.5. But watch those trees! Laser can't go through em!:D Edited April 8, 2018 by Accipiter Typo [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]i7 Haswell @ 4.6Ghz, Z97p, GTX1080, 32GB DDR3, x3SSD, Win7/64, professional. 32" BenQ, TIR 5, Saitek x55 HOTAS. SUNTSAG Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 You can also add a voice to the CTLD version as I have. Plus you can set triggers to enable and disable the JTAC function as you wish. Callsign: NAKED My YouTube Channel [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

CoBlue Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 No issues on my side at all, Tried your mission. I can contact JTAC but after I respond "ready to copy remarks" he stops responding?
