Hello,

Let me preface this by saying I am not hugely computer literate.

Last weekend I migrated my DCS install over to a new SSD for space. I copied and pasted the folder then did a fresh install over the top of it thinking it would just overwrite the files that needed to be updated to new 2.5.

After that DCS had me reinstall the F5. After jumping in it became obvious that none of the cockpit switches were clickable anymore.

Does anyone know what I did or am doing wrong? I imagine its something easy.

Thanks...

Thanks for the response but my problem isn’t that the mouse is controlling the view, it’s that the mouse pointer is a yellow cross and right or left clicking doesn’t affect any of the switches.

It's probably the old alt-enter full screen issue. Are you running at a res lower than native?

This issue has been reported on many times over the last couple of years in other threads. It is down to Windows/GPU drivers not handling scaling properly. That is why I asked about running a lower res than native.

It has to do with DCS appearing to be in full screen, but it's not. This is usually seen by some tearing if you move your head left and right quickly. To get it into proper full screen, hitting alt-enter works, but DCS becomes confused if you are in a lower than native res, and the screen is shifted to its (theoretical) correct relative position to the native res. For example, if you are running DCS on a 4K monitor at 1920x1080, the 'confused screen' is actually positioned in the top left quarter of the monitor.

When you see this issue, move your mouse around the top left of the screen. You'll see the cursor turn green in certain places.

Until this is properly fixed - although we've been waiting a long time! - my workaround is to alt-tab out to another app, e.g. TrackIR, then click on desktop, and then click on the DCS window. Problem has then disappeared and you are back to normal.

Yes, restarting DCS can help - as this issue doesn't always occur - but my suggestion works every time and doesn't require you to restart your DCS session.
