deltaleader Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 Looking for clarification here. If you just stay on the Open Beta build, will you continue to get updates? And if so, will Open Beta builds get new/beta releases of modules before stable release does? Art-J Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 (edited) ^ That must've been misunderstanding on your part, or that other poster's part, as it's the other way around (and always has been since 1.5.xx era, mind You) OB always gets updates first, and there can be a few of them (as seen, for example with all hotfixes for 2.5 OB) before the latest one gets implemented into release version. It's up to user to decide whether he's willing to cope with unproven updates in OB, or he prefers to wait for more "polished" patch for stable/release branch. That's no problem, as you can switch between OB and Stable Release at any time by using the DCS updater with the following commands respectively: DCS_updater.exe update @release DCS_updater.exe update @openbeta More info can be found here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030 I only have one installation of DCS for many years now and I switch between OB and Stable Release regularly. Just keep in mind that at the moment, both branches are on the exact same version, which means that when you switch between the branches at the moment, you won't notice anything. The current version for both branches can be seen here at all times: https://updates.digitalcombatsimulator.com/ Edited April 12, 2018 by QuiGon Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

=DECOY= Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 My advice would be stay on beta until the memory issues are fixed (soon I think) Then once the stable is stable and NOT a beta copy, move over to that. I believe the GUI tool allows you to change from one to the other without installing an additional copy Water cooled i9-9900K | Maximus Code XI MB | RTX3090 | 64GB | HP Reverb G2
