Headwarp Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 (edited) Took a few screenshots of the interior of the aircraft at night to show that there's nothing in the cockpit I can see that would be causing this glare... which also makes the canopy glass like it's had way too much abuse to not have been replaced at this point. I feel like I'd need a big rock or a diamond to do that much damage to the canopy glass. This is my favorite module currently flyable in the sim atm. So I don't mean to nitpick.. but.. the cockpit glass doesn't make sense to me, especially at night. ^ Certainly the moon isn't causing this glare.. which is also a bit more apparent at full size.. at least on a 34" 21:9 Edited April 11, 2018 by Headwarp Spoiler Win 11 Pro, z790 i9 13900k, RTX 4090 , 64GB DDR 6400GB, OS and DCS are on separate pci-e 4.0 drives Sim hardware - VKB MCG Ultimate with 200mm extension, Virpil T-50CM3 Dual throttles. derfritz Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Yeah, I can't see anything at dusk/dawn as well, it's pretty bad. especially if you get in to a dogfight...
Fri13 Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 These cockpit glass things are something that I have conflicted opinion. One way they are nice to have for looks, but one way they are just annoying and should be possible be turned off or tweaked down. But as one can easily often see, the cockpit glasses are taken very good care often so you don't have a finger print smudges, you don't have micro fractures etc as you can't see outside. And if you can't see outside, you are dead. As you can't spot the tiny target flying at you in few km distance when you have these huge micro fractures all over the places or ultra strong reflection from somewhere. Some is good, but we do not have the capability as in real world to focus past the glass and have some benefit to spot things outside the cockpit. On our systems everything is in focus from the closest distance to infinity. i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
