Bloodhound57 Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 Does this mean that we will auto-taxi to the catapult? Or is this just for AI aircraft? ____________________________________________________ PC: ASROCK Z370 Gaming K6 | Intel i7 8700K | GeForce 2080TI | 32GB GeSkill 3200 RAM | GeForce 2080TI | 500GB Samsung 850 EVO M.2 | 1TB Samsung 860 EVO M.2 ____________________________________________________ FLIGHT STUFF: Rift S | Warthog Base | Virpil Base | Hornet Grip | A-10 Grip | Cougar Grip | Virpil F-14 Grip | Cougar MFD's | A-10C UFC | Saitek Flight Panels | MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals
Teetwo Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 I would guess just AI as I would assume you as a human pilot would want to taxi your own aircraft but, then I know as much as you do.
pimp Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 Lots of questions after their announcement. Unfortunately we wont know until these features are ready to be revealed. For example, if the user has control to taxi to the catapult, what happens if you miss your mark to line up? Will the sim automatically place you in the correct spot? i9 14900k @5.6GHz NZXT Kraken |Asus ROG Strix Z790 A-Gaming | Samsung NVMe m.2 990 Pro 2TB | 64GB DDR5 6400MHz EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra | PiMAX CRYSTAL LIGHT | HOTAS Warthog | Saitek Flight Pedals

My guess would be that they will have a key command, like that which was present on the Kuzenetsov, where you hit the "U" key and it snaps you into the chocks for launch. I should think that maybe when you lower the launch bar, and are within a certain minimum distance/alignment parameter, the Hornet will "snap" into the proper position for launch. If not, you might receive a message telling you to taxi around and try again? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

SkateZilla Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 Does this mean that we will auto-taxi to the catapult? Or is this just for AI aircraft? For the AI, AI will start from Specific Spots, spool up, and taxi to the catapult. There is no Player Auto Taxi to Runway/Catapult.
