Night landing (22:30) - Airports turning off runway lights on final

After the last ATC call on final approach (...check landing gear...) the airport turns off the lights sad.gif ...just to turn them on as soon as the wheels have touched the ground

confirm

23h Sukhumi-Babushara RWY30 with J-11A(player), despite all sort of incoming communication with ATC they shut down approach and runway lights at "clear to land". Gaz searchlights stayed in operation mode during approach (one shine through wall)

edit: I tested Senaki also, no joy. If I not trigger "request landing" in communication menu the ATC shut down lights during the "check landing gear" message as HarryDeere41 stated in the opening post.

You're supposed to ask for landing. If they give you permission without you asking then you waited too long the same as barging onto the runway without takeoff permission.

ATC needs a revamp, and I think it will come after Naval ATC gets done, right now, most ATC is scripted. If you dont request the ATC, it will fire anyways based on conditions. SO I believe it can get tripped up. Might be what you are seeing. Try and do it through the radio comms in the sim, and not waiting for it to fire on its own. I will try and mess with it this weekend and see what I see.

This is good news! Thanks a lot!

BTW the Airport lights could be brighter? Because it's very poor in Caucasus, but the lights of towns and main roads are perfect and very cool in Open beta 2.5.1 update 1. I use orig Gamma 2.2.

Thanks in advance!

In whatever OB version is current at the time of this post: Nalchik ALS functioning during approach but was turned off in favor of the flood lights after my request for landing.

In semi-related note the floodlights are operating for both ends of the runway which makes a night takeoff a harrowing affair as blinding spotlights are bathing the cabin exactly during rotation. Flood lights should only operate on the arrival end of the runway turned on shortly before landing and turned off a few seconds after the airplane passes the zone illuminated during landing or takeoff. The departure end flood lights should remain off.

Problem fixed - Thanks guys!

Persian Gulf Map - Fantastic Job! Glad to get to know how to fly the plane in the Caucasus - Desert airstrips with crosswinds & turbulences prove to be adventurous - and short some times ;)

Same thing for 2.5.6.43931

I just updated to 2.5.6.43931 and notice the same problem again.

:sad_2: It is so frustrating not being able to finally enjoy the new lighting feature.
