Mizzy Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Hear is just a small example of the MSFS community charges for...ehhem.. a single aircraft that does..ehhem.... nothing but fly around doing nothing but err take off and land......erhem.... and fly around for $34. What a pisser. Geez my Partner bought FC for me at something like Ј19!!! Come on, I just can't understand the combat flight sim community sometimes when, if you were a Microsoft flight sim addict, your add-ons are extremely poor to say the least (virtual cockpits and functionality etc) and some of the developers of this shite charge the same as a full game  GEEZ can you believe it! Ok I know it's a very different market and extremely different business values, but Black Shark would be like a 5th dimension in terms of value as a flight simer to the MSFS community ;) Let us consider when BS does come out, it will be a quantum leap ahead of the Micro-shite addons, please consider this when certain people here start spouting volumes of effluence on this virtual notice board. This is aimed at you Bard and the rest of your loony toony crowd. Just my meek opinion. Mizzy. P.S. Iggy, I sent you a PM! http://www.alphasim.co.uk/
monotwix Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Well Mizzy you see, unless ED do some thing about it, the guys gona go nuts and than whose to blame. I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.
Aeroscout Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Wait, so what exactally are you ranting about? It was a bit hard to folllow. Heres how I say it, you were mad because MSFS charfges too much for a single aircraft. (I totaly agree) and you believe thet we sould be gratefull for the work that was put into Flaming cliffs and BS when it arrives. Am I right? I'd hate to be totally wrong in my understanding. Sorry... DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices
Arthonon Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 I think there's a difference between the two, though. Microsoft is not the one making the add-on aircraft for their product, and they release patches for their product for free, not requiring that you buy an add-on from them to get them. If some company started making add-ons for LO/FC/BS, charging whatever they want, I doubt Bard would have a problem with that. It's when the company who releases a flawed product forces you to buy their new product to fix the first one is what I think Bard is complaining about. You may think that attitude is just as unjustified, and I'm not going to argue either way, but I think there is a difference, nonetheless.
monotwix Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 The business in terms of $$ and community. Some thing to be understood the next day kind of thing . I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.
Arthonon Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Listening to the reasoning coming from that character will erode any common sense you may have. You aren't forced to buy Flaming Cliffs. Got a problem with Lock On? Complain to UBI. They forced it out early, Wags so much as said so. Read between the lines, the dude had a site called diesimfanboi aimed specifically at Lock On and people who fly it. He blamed Stormin' for intentionally deceiving all of us and that he was a thief, liar and whatever else dude could think of when he was on his rant. There's a small group of those guys humping each other's legs, don't get yourself involved or your parents are going to wonder why one leg on your new jeans is all worn out. Wow, sounds kinda personal. OK, I think I'm done posting in this thread...
monotwix Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 So you think Flaming Cliffs was something to complain about as an add-on! Make a note of the meaning duds, before bringing on the geans etc and refering characters.:chair: I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.
S77th-GOYA Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Come on, I just can't understand the combat flight sim community sometimes Maybe it has to do with our enjoyment of combat. No matter what you compare it to, FC and 1.12a hurt rather than helped several facets of LOMAC. e.g. uber-chaff and missiles shooting down missiles. 1
VMFA-Blaze Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Speaking about addons, I purchase the Concorde add on for MS9 and haven't been able to get this to work in FSX... They keep a note in the file that it will be looked at soon but its been quite a while since FSX has been released and still no update.... BladeLWS Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 People buy from Alphasim all the time, they are one of the only groups that makes military aircraft, and at a decent quality. Most times that is the only place to get the military aircraft you want.
theGozr Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 True many are outrageously expensive and i think it's abusive.. but in the other hand FSX have turbulences Online and weather and clouds and the whole planet to fly on.. Fly it like you stole it..
VMFA-Blaze Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 Actually I have the Concorde add on from Just Flight.. But I think that actually Alphasim are the developers... When you go to Alpha's site they have a notation in the Concorde forum telling you not to post anything about that upgrade. they'll get to it when its convenient or something to that effect... Very poor customer service if you ask me.. But on the other hand when I lost the manual that is included in the software, I contacted Just Flight they sent me another copy free of charge and even paid the postage .. Now that's excellent service.. I just wish that Alphasim was consistent with JustFlight... ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
