dopebogey Posted June 5, 2018 Share Posted June 5, 2018 (edited) They do, it's just called ICLS (Instrument Carrier Landing System) and ACLS which is automated. ICLS is is a little different than ground-based ILS but it pretty much the same idea (localizer and glideslope). Also, Waggs said in a post (I can't remember where it's at) that they will not be implementing ICLS, I think because maybe the Navy is getting rid of it. They are going to be implementing the ACLS at some point. Anyway, I think the Navy has or is removing the ICLS systems and will be replaced soon by the JPALS (Joint Precision Approach and Landing System). It's a little unclear how this is proceeding.
