I haven't attempted carrier landings since the old days with Il-2 1946. This is a good workout while I wait for more WIP features to get ironed out.

My first didn't hook, had to go around.

My second didn't hook, go around.

Finally nailed it on my third try.

I'm sitting at 14 bolters, two ramp strikes and 4 traps. (2x 3 wire, 1x 1 wire, 1x 4 wire.)

on speed depends on your weight I believe. fuel weapons etc. every-time you fly ur on speed will be different. (that's my understanding of it so far anyway)

 

all I know is that my initial is 340 at 800ft. then I know I get 250 during the 180. and then after the beam before entering the 90 and the 45 etc etc its just on speed. going by the indicator whatever that may be. but I also know you shouldn't land with more than 6000lbs of fuel so you don't damage the gears. so I know I like to enter the groove with a speed of about 200. and correct from there. that been working well for me.

I know if you're banked making your final left you'll run out of fuel at 20 and not 0...

First try here, but caught second wire. Second try was another second wire. Got third on the third and on the fourth.

Tricky to get used to. I just put the vector on top of the wires at 170-180 kts.
