Eurofighter Typhoon

i'm sure this has been done to death on here lol but WOW can u imagine the Eurofighter Typhoon on DCS........it would outsell every single aircraft to date on DCS no doubt.....i've read a few old posts saying that it would be too good and outclass everything else on DCS .....YUP JUST LIKE IN THE REAL WORLD A BAD ASS 4TH GEN KILLING MACHINE......from what i've read it even has the flying turkey F35 beaten hands down too with its awesome thrust to weight ratio and agility.....

 

A few other posts mentioned the systems were classified and that would prevent development but come on its not that advanced .... the Captor-E radar is based on the AN/APG-65 radar and the other avionics aren't even 5th gen...... no doubt it would be a challenging project but i think its time DCS was brought into the modern era i think many younger pilots are put off DCS by all the old classic fighters that just don't do it for them........ i wonder how much the development of a project such as this would cost ? i've no doubt there would be many pre orders and players willing to support development

Pretty much completely classified, good luck trying to get close to accurate data on just the avionics. No way you're getting access at all to CAPTOR-E (not sure where you are getting based off of APG-65 from, plus it's an AESA radar with far more advanced functions than any airborne RADAR in DCS currently) or any of the EW equipment.

 

IIRC RAZBAM couldn't even do a Harrier Gr.7 due to classified avionics, particularly the EW equipment and the BAe Harrier II has been out of UK service for 7 years, let alone the Gr.7

 

It would also be practically completely unmatched as far as realistic REDFOR go. MiG-29S and the Su-27S have quite a massive gap between them and the Typhoon, especially later variants.

 

It would be at the very least the workload of the F/A-18C which isn't finished yet, with only EA features. And the Eurofighter surpasses the F/A-18C in the EW department, as well as IRST (which is also probably classified).

 

To do a full fidelity Typhoon, whilst it would be fantastic to see, and sure I'd love to see it too, even if only out of the absence of other British aircraft (we only have the Spitfire MkIX and a Hawk that's seen far better days). But realistically speaking, we wouldn't see it until another decade or so, or at least a considerable fraction of one going by current time frames for complex aircraft development.

VEAO had clearance to do an earlier one. For various reasons it was cancelled after a few years of development.

 

 

I very much doubt anyone else will get clearance, unless another 3rd party based in the UK turns up and happens to have other MoD related work on the go.

I'd be interested in an FC3 level variant. I don't imagine there is enough info to do a full fidelity module though.

There won't be any more FC3 level aircraft, and they won't do any aircraft that have too many classified systems to make it worthwhile...or don't have enough data to follow.

Su27/33/27 and Mig29 are all "Classified", but we still have them. FC4 is coming anyway.
