flo57100 Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 (edited) ...Give us back the possibility to switch off differed shading, everything is too dark (light effect, cockpit lighting, etc etc etc, especially at night, even the landing light doesn't allow to see anything 1 meter in front of airplane Edited June 10, 2018 by flo57100
Mars Exulte Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 DS IS the rendering engine now, it's not going away. If it's too dark, turn up the gamma setting, that's what it's there for. Де вороги, знайдуться козаки їх перемогти. 5800x3d * 3090 * 64gb * Reverb G2
flo57100 Posted June 10, 2018 Author Posted June 10, 2018 (edited) I agrre that some things can be fixed by increasing gamma setting. But, other things like landing light that can't light anything in front of airplane when taxiing by night, the AV8B FLIR that doesn't show anything anymore in front of you (and before we could have a really good view on mountains, details on land etc etc...), and in AV8B, before when you attempted a night air refueling, the light in the AAR probe lit the refueling drogue and you had a really nice cool effect that lit the tanker as well (lower wing surface, fuel pods), this video illustrates what I mean: Try to do the same now with deferred shadings, you will not see anything until the drogue smacks your nose. Come on ED, please give us back REAL lighting effects or at least, give us back the possibility to switch off deferred shadings Edited June 10, 2018 by flo57100
Emmy Posted June 10, 2018 Posted June 10, 2018 Gamma does not adjust Relative Black Point. It will lessen overall contrast, but it will not make light sources better illuminate their surroundings nor will it make light sources brighter or easier to see. lemoen Posted June 10, 2018 Posted June 10, 2018 We need a separate brightness control and probably contrast too, in addition to gamma.

flo57100 Posted June 12, 2018 Author Posted June 12, 2018 I just made a quick video in the 2.5 (not 2.5.2b). Things to observe: - NVG rendering (effect is bad, but field of view is wider) - Cockpit instruments and ambiant lighting - HUD FLIR rendering of terrain, relief and objects - Lighting effect on the tanker https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTgt0821rjM&t=1s
