For us with no AB detents on the throttle it's hard to judge when we're in AB.

Whishing an optional (special menu) click sound for when we're in After Burners in the F-18C  (like in the Viggen).

I suppose you can hear some kind of sound IRL in an cold&dark cockpit, when moving the throttles past AB detents.

use ab detent keybind

far more reliable than sussing out where the softdetent is by listening for the sound

Some points

In reality, the pilot does not have to use the fingerlifts to go into AB (in the air), just push past the detent. IMO, having a click sound (or better two clicks - one just before FMP and one just after you go into AB), is a better representation of reality, with the sounds representing the pilot feeling the detent. This would be very helpful in stopping your throttle at full military.

In practice, having to use the fingerlifts often means you have to bring your throttle back and forward again to go into AB, which is a bit cumbersome.

For takeoffs otoh, I would prefer having to use the fingerlifts as well as the clicks, for the sake of realism.

Both options have their advantages, so I don't see an issue with having all the options available.

+1 this has been done in many other Devs in different Sims in order to give pilot feedback in a system where most pilots don't have an actual detent as an immersion factor and ultimately a pilot aid to give some sensory feedback where none currently exists. I think this should be standard on all your stuff. It's not unrealistic, and it's very helpful. Great request.
