comie1
Hey guys, Great module fly it daily.... HOWEVER... lol This tone bug where the aim 9 wont growl when flying in formations is driving me crazy... It's been around for a very long time now. is there any plans to address this? Cheers Edited July 4, 2018 by comie1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] https://www.twitch.tv/comie1
comie1
OK seems my post isn't getting any attention..... lol If someone at Belsimtek would be kind enough to take a look at the below clip you will see what I am referring too. This happens to everyone I fly with and can last for over 60's. I fly the F5 more than most humans should and posted with the intent of helping out not bitching  Note: Master arm is on right after lead calls fence in. https://clips.twitch.tv/ArbitraryAggressiveTofuAMPEnergy Edited July 4, 2018 by comie1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] https://www.twitch.tv/comie1
33-DFTC
I am not sure to get it. After watching the clip twice, the only tone I can hear is the RWR tones announcing new contacts at 1sec, 15sec and 18 sec, nothing else :x There are only two types of aircraft, fighters and targets. - Major Doyle "Wahoo" Nicholson, USMC

The Aim 9 growl will not be audible for anything upto 60's or more after flying in formations. beppe_goodoldrebel
Something similar happen when you start a mission already in the air with MSL,Guns on. You won't ear the tone for an amount of time... then you here it again. Usually I switch it off and on again to ear the tone immediately.

comie1
Here is a simple example in Video and a Trk to check. (see Google Drive link) Now this example is far less extreme than scenarios I've seen where I have been much further out and tone will not come back for a long time. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/18aa5XsuqnB-qBzrPP3G8a9hpvWkboJ1S?usp=sharing Edited July 4, 2018 by comie1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] https://www.twitch.tv/comie1

It never happened to me in that situation ( at least in SP ... never done so much MP though ). Yep I always do cold starts in Multiplayer. The video in my above post (google drive link) is a single player example air start. Another example: This Isn't me flying but you can hear me in the background saying "I don't have tone"... this is the kind of scenario where this bug is a B***h Basically I had my master arm on for a while and my aim9's wouldn't give me a growl or tone at all. My position was just about 50ft to the right of the guy in the video. https://clips.twitch.tv/HumblePlacidEchidnaPicoMause Edited July 4, 2018 by comie1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] https://www.twitch.tv/comie1
comie1
Same issue in the Red Flag this weekend... Guys can someone from Bell please acknowledge this BUG? Or explain WTF is going on here? As per I can give you the trk file if required, attaching on here wont work. Jenrick
Just so I'm clear, so I can see if I have the same issue: After a period of time (how long?) the AIM-9 stops emitting the search tone (or the lock on tone, or both)?? Does the tone return if you do something or is it permanently lost?
comie1
After a period of time Nothing to do with time. When in formations of what seems to be 3 or more jets if you put the master arm on you get no seeker sound. This can last for minuets. the only thing that seems to help (not confirmed) is toggling on and off the master arm and breaking formation. You can see me trying these things in the various videos/clips posted [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] https://www.twitch.tv/comie1
Jenrick
Okay so if you're by more than 1 (the number to be determined by testing) lockable targets you loose tone? Now are we talking the general "growl" or the actual lock tone?

ED Team NineLine Posted July 31, 2018 ED Team Share Posted July 31, 2018 I've tried to replicate in single player, will give MP a go now and see if I can get this to happen. If you have a very short track of this issues, load it up somewhere for me. If you have a very short track of this issues, load it up somewhere for me. Hi Sir, Thanks for having a look into this for me. The google drive link I put up (added to this post too) has two Trk files. The one named Tone Bug is the smaller one I made in a single player mission. Let me know if you need a smaller one. Thanks again  https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/18aa5XsuqnB-qBzrPP3G8a9hpvWkboJ1S I'll also get Tricker and someone to make a quick mission with me to replicate this in Multiplayer this week. ED Team NineLine Posted August 1, 2018 ED Team Share Posted August 1, 2018 Ok, so I just watched that short track, maybe I wasnt seeing or hearing in this case, everytime you armed, I heard a growl/tone. Here is a vid of your track, just to make sure I am hearing what you did, and maybe I am missing the issues. I dont fly the F-5 nearly enough. So when you replay that track you can hear the growl  That's strange cause when I fly it and in my recording you don't hear it till after I get out in front and cycle the master arm a few times. I wonder why that would be? Thanks for the help Nineline  [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] https://www.twitch.tv/comie1
beppe_goodoldrebel
Nineline , try one of the ACM/BFM campaign practice mission. You should start over waypoint India with master arm on , aim9s armed and no growl sound. If you put master arm off and on it will start to growl again. Make sure you try with the new Open Beta patch, I was using that last night when I viewed your track, but unsure if that is the reason for the difference. It could be a MP thing, do you have any mods installed? Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

beppe_goodoldrebel
Will give it a go in a little while. I've tried it now , after the update of today ... no issue! Don't know if it's ok from today , I've not played those missions since 1 or 2 weeks ago. ED Team NineLine Posted August 1, 2018 ED Team Share Posted August 1, 2018 (edited) Its possible it was fixed, as I said above, I checked Comie's track with the new patch, but please, let me know if you see it again. It seems like its one of those bugs that comes and goes.
