I always edit the weather so i got "almost" no clouds or bad weather,

Reason is FPS.

Flying the viper hornet and longbow in nevada campaign and im attacking J11 and J17 parked on runway at nellis with jdams,

Even with clouds set low in settings sometimes clouds appear everywhere.

This causes massive fps drop when looking around with my track ir and also when using the tgp.

Without clouds i get a full 60 fps in the same mission?

That said the clouds look amazing but i would rather the better fps.

I downloaded it after all but had to turn off my AVG(excluded it in settings),and so far it running ok.

Anyway as it has not been updated since two DCS upates we coud expect soon new version I guess....

After the latest update of DCS, Liberation seems to be almost unplayable: the simulation thread si killing my CPU and starving the GPU: the frame rate drops to 8 or less!

Retribuition is a fork of the Libreration code (from Liberation v6.0.0) so they are basically quite similar.

Retribuition however keeps the back compatibility of save games, while Liberation does not (i.e: saved games from Liberation client version X are not compabile with Liberation version X+1, instead, with Retribuition, version X+1 allows load ad play saved games from version X).

Sinai campaign works fine regarding FPS(sure thing editing weather helps a lot),but I see now that Black sea now after latest update is killing GPU and FPS drops down to 7-8 fps.

Hello, 

I am new to Liberation. I tried to limit the number of aircraft per squadron at campaign start, but the game keeps generating crazy number of planes despite the limits I set. For example, I limit the number of planes to 4 for a squadron, but the generated mission has 40+ of that aircraft. As a result, the performance is really very bad. I'm on a i510600k + RTX3070, and I get about 10 FPS. Is this normal for Liberation or am I doing something wrong?

Try limit money.

Also: disable auto buy and do it by yourself in turn 0

So, squadron plane limit is dysfunctional it seems. I'll try limiting money and see how it will help, but that would also break the whole Liberation concept I'm guessing.

Nevermind, it was my mistake. I hadn't noticed that some squadrons have multiple wings and must set limit for all of them.  So, all good now, thanks

Anybody know how to edit/change a pilot's name in the squadron?  Tried a google search and search of this thread but only picked up on "name" not "pilot name".  

I found the name of the pilot in the player.liberation file inside of the campaign save .zip, but when I changed it and loaded up liberation it wouldn't load that save, so gotta start over from scratch now.

EDIT: I was able to glean the answer by snooping around on the discord.  You can't edit them, you have to enter it as a player into a box on the squadron creation window during the new campaign wizard:

I have been using Liberation for some time and after 2 last DCS updates(MT merged with ST)Liberation can not generate .miz file anymore in Saved games/DCS/Mission???

I reinstalled it few times,run like admin or no,does not work anymore....Same thing with Retribution that I found some time ago,both of them worked without problem or errors prior to last updates?

Does anyone have any solution?

The screenshot you have posted seems to belog to Retribution, not Liberation...

Edi: just made a quick test with Liberation v11.1.1 ad it is working correctly with the latest DCS update.

Yes,but its the same kind of error!

Just did fresh download and install......Why its creating Saved games/DCS open beta folder when there is no more OB?

Is he runing on Steam maybe?

Win 10 or Win 11?

Do you run it as admin or not?do you put it in Program files or just somewhere on the drive?

I'm running DCS with stand-alone client (non Steam then),

my DCS data folder is still in "Saved games/DCS open beta".

My OS in Win 11

I'm running DCS as administrator.

DCS Liberation 12.0.1 is in pre-release state.

I gave it a quick look: I was expecting some campaign for Afganistan and/or Kola maps but nope.

I whould be appy to create some by myself (and maybe push them to liberation) but I can't find any good tutorial on how to create them.
