dburne Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 I Uninstalled metashaders2 and fxo and it helped enormously. C:\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta Never hurts to clean those out on occasion, usually after some updates. Keeps the cobwebs out. :smilewink: Don B EVGA Z390 Dark MB | i9 9900k CPU @ 5.1 GHz | Gigabyte 4090 OC | 64 GB Corsair Vengeance 3200 MHz CL16 | Corsair H150i Pro Cooler |Virpil CM3 Stick w/ Alpha Prime Grip 200mm ext| Virpil CM3 Throttle | VPC Rotor TCS Base w/ Alpha-L Grip| Point Control V2|Varjo Aero|
Warthog_Farmer Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 nVidia drivers 388.59 is the solution. Google it for the download. It's a fairly common problem. They are the latest version to not suffer from the jitter-bug. It's a shame cos the newest version seems to offer a better framerate - but the jitter is unplayable. Eagerly awaiting new drivers.
LithiumR Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 (edited) I am having this problem also. I'm downloading 388.59 now. We'll see. Really hard to identify targets when they are... double, blurred. However you want to describe it. I think there are two different problems going around on the forums though. Some people say that the cockpit itself is leaving trails. I don't have this problem. It only happens when things are moving past me at speed or I am moving past them at speed and only outside the cockpit. Example would be merging with another plane or flying low and looking at the trees. They are all smeared, blurred, double, ghosting. I run at a solid 50-60 fps. But it's smooth.... it's not jumpy or jittery. It's just smeared. Update: Nvidia driver 388.59 did not fix it. I think I've tried everything to get rid of this. ASW off/ on, interleaved off/on, Always reproject off/on, all combinations of all of those, graphics everything on low, Nvidia control panel settings.... idk what else to do. I can run at strait 90 fps with graphics turned down and all reprojection turned off and it still happens. Hmph. Warthog_Farmer Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 (edited) I think your problem might be running ASW off with <90fps. Supposedly the headset will only display 45fps as Vsync is hard coded to prevent tearing in VR. YOU MIGHT BE RENDERING 60fps but you are not displaying it. That is as far as I understand. With 8086k/1080Ti I can’t get 90fps in Rift. I hate ASW glitches so I must run a jagged sim until optimisation happens. I tend to play PUBG now because of this instead... which is a shame. Just re-read and realised you said you get 90fps. As long as they are constant I am not sure of your issue. I had the same issues before the driver issues and it was purely performance causing it. Run Oculus debug tool overlay and make sure your performance headroom is never below 0 Edited August 15, 2018 by Warthog_Farmer
ked Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 So I just got the RTX 2070 and thought it was finaly time to get my oculus out of the closet. Ran into the same issue One guy from my squadron explained me that it's the ASW turning off automaticaly, we don't know why. There's a way to resolve this however, press left ctrl + Numpad 4 or Numpad 1 and there you go, simple fix but well hiden
Jack McCoy Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 One guy from my squadron explained me that it's the ASW turning off automaticaly, we don't know why. I was convinced ASW ON was the preferred setting - and maybe this was right with my 1070 - but with a 1080Ti it seems ASW off (with or without 45FPS limiter) is better. Anyhow, with the Oculus shortcut keys, it's easy to flip through the modes and determine the optimal setting. There's a way to resolve this however, press left ctrl + Numpad 4 or Numpad 1 and there you go, simple fix but well hiden +1000! I didn't know (forgot) this and was forced to remove the headset (which caused some type of short-lived reset) or Alt-Tab and fiddle with the ASW setting. TinPony Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 When the menu loads in VR hit “alt +enter” to change to true full screen. Never had a jitter since.

Hotkey reference: https://forums.oculusvr.com/community/discussion/50711/what-are-the-keys-for-asw) I found out (https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3846087&postcount=91) that there were two undocumented keys : the CTL+KP7 key makes the Rift available as a display (monitor) in Windows, while the CTL-KP8 key does the exact opposite.
