Hi guys, any idea what axis controls the radar elevation? Using a button is really hard and the elevation is way too sensitive, it's hard to find the sweet spot...

Windows 10 - Intel i7 7700K 4.2 Ghz (no OC) - Asus Strix GTX 1080 8Gb - 16GB DDR4 (3000 MHz) - SSD 500GB + WD Black FZEX 1TB 6Gb/s

I agree. Real plane has it... it's very hard and there is no reference point. The gain marker has it, and is a tremendous help.

This has been brought up before as well on other threads...

please please please!

There is of top the radar screen in the mode akan or ir-rb

I've been waiting for this subject to come up as I've been awfully confused about it before. Thanks for clarifying Skyracer that it's the weapon mode that displays the elevation indicator. I didn't recall before what mode actually provided it.

The problem I've had is that elevation can still be controlled outside of those modes, with no indication that its going up or down or how far. But I can still tell as in full tilt, the radar sweep becomes very narrow.

Is there a keybinding or otherwise for "centering" the radar, or otherwise returning it to default?

Just turn the knob to akan or irrb and you will see your radar settings

Thing is, do you think that's how the actual pilots did it?

there is a rotary knob on the middle with a center detent (same as gain) you use this to bring it up and down. you don't keep switching to A/A mode to see where your elevation is lol.

Even though I agree where you're coming from, that's like saying the gear lights are modeled, so just hit f2 and see if your landing gears are down.

not really a solution. Model it the way it's meant to be! lol

This seems like one of those ergonomic things then that doesn't translate too well from cockpit to PC.

On my hold x45 joystick, I' had center detents for my dials, which would make this a lot easier if there's indeed an axis to bind.

I have one wheel on my TM Warthog, and I'll see if maybe I can bind that when I get home. But for those without a wheel, a "reset to center" button may be useful here.
