I found something thats really made it hard for me to believe the Hornets flight modeling... I forgot to put my wings down with a full bombload off the Cat yesterday so I thought lets see today.. Uneventful Cat Shot, a little mushy but not uncontrollable. Fired AIM-9s off the folded tips and then came around and attempted to land. Right down to the ball I had it under control but then it got mushy again and I had to eject. If I had had more fuel I would have took it back around. Anyone else done this? Its obviously not modeled. Folded wings knock 25-30% off your needed lifting force. The wingtips up generate no lift.

I didn't suggest the wingtips provide lift when folded, but the entire wing isn't folded. There is enough wing unfolded to provide enough lift to get the aircraft off the ground.
