Nealius Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 After modding the platcam (Alt+F9) on the Stennis to get a lot of different camera angles for cinematics, I'm toying with the thought of doing it on the Tarawa, which does not seem to have any kind of view options other than bog-standard F9 ship view. Would it be possible to mod this in, or get some kind of Alt+F9 "Platcam" options in future releases?

Nealius Posted August 20, 2018 Author Posted August 20, 2018 How did you do that? I tried copy/pasting the Stennis Platcam code into the Taraway's .lua file but it never worked.
Jack McCoy Posted August 23, 2018 Posted August 23, 2018 Stop hacking your lua! Alt-F9, repeatedly to switch ships. You must have the Tarawa in your mission, of course. i7-7700K@4.8GHz, 16Gb-3200, GTX-1080Ti-Strix-11Gb, Maximus IX Hero, Oculus Rift, Thrustmaster Warthog+F/A-18C, Logitech G940 Pedals.
Nealius Posted August 23, 2018 Author Posted August 23, 2018 Alt+F9 does not do anything. F9 switches ships, but is the ship equivalent of an aircraft's F2 view, which doesn't give any deck views like the Alt+F9 Plat Cam can. I'm basically wanting to create my same custom camera views on the Tarawa like I did with the Stennis.
Ramsay Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 (edited) Alt+F9 does not do anything. Strange, Alt+F9 (options\controls\general\F9 Landing signal officer view) switches between ship platform cameras in my SP AV-8 Sandbox mission with the Stennis, Tarawa and Saipan (Tarawa duplicate) i.e. repeated presses of Alt+F9 switches between ships/LSO views Unfortunately the Tarawa LSO camera faces forward by default, so isn't particularly useful. Perhaps Alt+F9 is also set for Track IR in your setup ? Note: The Tarawa LSO position looks to be defined in "DCS World\CoreMods\aircraft\AV8BNA\LHA_Tarawa.lua" but I haven't tried doing anything with it. -- Aviation Facilities GT.Landing_Point = {-71.0, 19.9, -8.0} GT.LSOView = { cockpit = "empty", position = { --[[connector = "",]] offset = {-69.0, 19.9, -10.75, 0.0, 0.0} } } I'd guess offset = {-69.0, 19.9, -10.75, -180.0, 4.0} would be close ? Tested in DCS 2.5.2.20601 Edited August 24, 2018 by Ramsay i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440
Nealius Posted August 24, 2018 Author Posted August 24, 2018 That must have been added with one of the recent updates. At the time that I started this thread, that line did not exist in the LHA_Tarawa.lua file.
