shake307 Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 I am 99 percent sure it will never happen, but I think it would be kinda cool to have the world's most produced biplane in DCS. It would be easy to research and could be used as a psuedo forward area transport due to its large size and good STOL capabilities. ED seems to be wanting to put more civil types of aircraft in DCS, so I say why not the An-2? ASUS X570 Plus TUF MOBO, Ryzen 3900X CPU, EVGA 2080 Super GPU, 32GB RAM, 500GB SSD
Jester986 Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 The company doing the I-16 has an An-2 for another sim. Maybe if the I-16 does well they'll bring it over?
vali_grad Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 it is slow, not enough smoke particles in the game engine, used for crops and skydiving ... hope for hercules :) Su34 & F111 a dream fullfilled in fsx...[sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i5 5600, 1050ti, 16 GVram, win10 , TM W hotas&rudder, waiting for 1060/1070 price fall or a new gpu family..f*&9 miners :)
Mars Exulte Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Interesting it's a static prop, but unavailable even as AI. I noticed then at Sochi. They're surprisingly large, too, next to a Yak-52 :p Де вороги, знайдуться козаки їх перемогти. 5800x3d * 3090 * 64gb * Reverb G2
twistking Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 i agree, that an an2 would be an interesting airplane, that would also fit better to dcs map sizes than other (bigger and faster) suggested transport aircraft. there was also a weaponized version of the an-2 during the vietnam war. probably more DIY, but still... My improved* wishlist after a decade with DCS *now with 17% more wishes compared to the original
Worrazen Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 Side-stuff like that could be useful for maybe some kind of campaign or scenario stuff, like insurgents steal a transport plane or something, or some key cargo has to be escorted, or rough land in a grassy airfield. And only AI version would be needed for that. Modules: A-10C I/II, F/A-18C, Mig-21Bis, M-2000C, AJS-37, Spitfire LF Mk. IX, P-47, FC3, SC, CA, WW2AP, CE2. xvii-Dietrich Posted August 23, 2018 Posted August 23, 2018 Count me in. I'm happy to see any radial-engined aircraft in DCS. :) But if it is the AN-2V "Vodnyy" variant you'll REALLY get my support! :D
zippoa Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 That's one of the leader of mass production in planes. +1 for it in DCS
