I am 99 percent sure it will never happen, but I think it would be kinda cool to have the world's most produced biplane in DCS. It would be easy to research and could be used as a psuedo forward area transport due to its large size and good STOL capabilities. ED seems to be wanting to put more civil types of aircraft in DCS, so I say why not the An-2?

The company doing the I-16 has an An-2 for another sim. Maybe if the I-16 does well they'll bring it over?

it is slow, not enough smoke particles in the game engine, used for crops and skydiving ... hope for hercules :)

Interesting it's a static prop, but unavailable even as AI. I noticed then at Sochi. They're surprisingly large, too, next to a Yak-52 :p

i agree, that an an2 would be an interesting airplane, that would also fit better to dcs map sizes than other (bigger and faster) suggested transport aircraft.

 

 

there was also a weaponized version of the an-2 during the vietnam war. probably more DIY, but still...

Side-stuff like that could be useful for maybe some kind of campaign or scenario stuff, like insurgents steal a transport plane or something, or some key cargo has to be escorted, or rough land in a grassy airfield.

 

And only AI version would be needed for that.

Count me in. I'm happy to see any radial-engined aircraft in DCS. :)

 

But if it is the AN-2V "Vodnyy" variant you'll REALLY get my support! :D

That's one of the leader of mass production in planes. +1 for it in DCS
