Dangermouseb51 Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Evening, Carried out update tonight and in VR its borked ... in game as you move your head the cockpit doesn’t seem to be locked still it’s as if the cockpit moves in opposite direction ... easier to explain if you then open f10 look at map then same motion ish .. ie all my map symbols don’t match up with background, ie locked with the background and as you move mouse around it’s as if your looking at a stacked 3D map. Oculus VR user ... same in both multiplayer and single instant action.. when going back to menu screen seems to be like map and floats around not locked in space and position ... dburne Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 So far I have not seen that issue in my Rift. You might try deleting the contents of your shaders folder and FXO folder just for kicks and grins. fitness88 Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Yes. I've had good results doing that as well but of course that won't get control of the ASW...which quite possibly is a registry omission.
Phantomflyer65 Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 I'm having this issue also. Not really willing to go in and delete stuff. If you've ever attempted to do Combined Arms in V/R, it is much the same in that the head tracking goes all wonky when you hit the esc key in game

That is what is so strange about this, ASW is an Oculus runtime thing, not a DCS thing. Maybe in the morning I will try with it enabled just to check it out. Dangermouseb51 Posted August 31, 2018 Author Posted August 31, 2018 Morning, DBurne, have you done the latest update .... seems odd both myself and my brother updated same time both using rifts ang both getting same issues with floating cockpits / map ... will try your suggestion when I get back tonight after work, can’t be any worse ... There was another forum string reporting this I saw but I could find it again to post .... Thanks Jim Dangermouse [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

No problem disabling it on my end (I use a profile in Oculus Tray Tool). I flew in this latest version of DCS yesterday with it disabled. Now seeing some of the reports am almost afraid to try with ASW enabled. I flew in this latest version of DCS yesterday with it disabled. Now seeing some of the reports am almost afraid to try with ASW enabled. Below are the 4 options: When working, option #1 & #2 cause a blurred/doubling of objects when flying low to the ground. These are both in ASW disabled mode and you say you don't get this affect? Only #3 & #4 seem to give clarity...when working. Control-Numpad1: Disables ASW and returns to the standard rendering mode. Control-Numpad2: Forces apps to 45Hz with ASW disabled. Depending on the application, you are likely to experience judder. Control-Numpad3: Forces apps to 45Hz with ASW enabled. Enabling and disabling ASW will help you see the effects of ASW. Control-Numpad4: Enables ASW. ASW automatically turns on and off, depending on whether the app maintains a 90Hz frame rate. This is the default runtime rendering mode. dburne Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 (edited) I do not use the keypad shortcuts, I enable (auto) and disable ASW through the Oculus Tray Tool. Did some testing this morning, everything appears to be running fine for me. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3611906&postcount=47 Can't say for sure ASW was enabled, going by fps counter it was but was not getting the graphic anomalies I normally would with it enabled. I tried it both ways, and performance for me was fine and very smooth. dburne Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 That includes low level flying over trees without seeing blurring/double vision? Yep over Normandy, been flying it all morning. fitness88 Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 Yep over Normandy, been flying it all morning. I read your detailed post and will try some more testing. Did you try selecting ASW Status under Visual HUD in OTT to see if ASW was on or off?
fitness88 Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 My findings: Selecting ASW Status under Visual HUD in OTT to see if ASW is on or off showed no difference regardless of what setting is chosen in either OTT or in game with keyboard short cuts, to the blurry/doubling affect normally only seen with ASW off...the blurry/doubling is there all the time now regardless of what the ASW setting is? Edit: After installing today's hot patch...no difference.
wrl11 Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 Yep over Normandy, been flying it all morning. dburne, do you have MSAA turned off? I noticed that the double vision thing is much reduced when MSAA is off. It seems to be the only option setting that can reduce it. Even putting every to low but having MSAA on makes bad double vision. But I can turn everything to high and MSAA off (even 14x AA) and its much more playable. .

I have not seen that in a long time - but I have run with ASW off for a long time also. I have spent a lot of time flying the Spit over Normandy today, have had good performance and very smooth.
