Guppy Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 Hey all - Working on a custom "button box" having issues finding the size of the toggle switch I want. Everything I end up ordering are "mini". I want switches that are comparable in size to the TM WH Throttle. Any ideas? I'm certainly not looking to drop $30-50 on mil-grade switch. I'm just looking for something comparable in size to them. Any links would help greatly! Thanks! My Simpit Progress and Update Learn how to build a SimPit like mine: Follow my Blog here!
Fusedspine33 Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 These may be what you want. The seller has on-off, on-on and on-off-on https://www.ebay.com/itm/SPST-ON-OFF-MINIATURE-TOGGLE-SWITCH-FULL-SIZE-TOGGLE-6A-125V-66-1230-10PK/151890298082?hash=item235d5e04e2:g:PyoAAOSw4UtWTyns:sc:USPSPriority!17015!US!-1 Deadman also has switch caps you can epoxy to switches. https://www.shapeways.com/shops/a-10c-warthog-supplies?section=Switch+cap+replicas&s=0
Braeden108 Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 (edited) I'm partial to these https://www.digikey.com/products/en?keywords=eg2372 They're large and feel like good. But they're still somewhat inexpensive. One thing that I feel is often forgotten is a lot of the more critical switches are locking lever swithes, master arm, fuel dump, etc. You can get some nice locking lever switches too, this one is three position and the other is a two position. They're also quite satisfying to use. https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/e-switch/100DP6K2B25M1QE/100DP6K2B25M1QE-ND/3777874 https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/e-switch/100DP1K2B25M1QE/100DP1K2B25M1QE-ND/3777861 My favorite is the Momentary-Off-On switch these are great for engine management in the A-10C. You can unlock it and move it to the momentary position and then it will click back into the run position (center) then you can lock it into the off position when the aircraft is shut down. https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/nidec-copal-electronics/8E1051-Z/563-1688-ND/5086653 Then as FusedSpine Suggested you can epoxy caps onto them. VZ_342 Posted September 27, 2018 Posted September 27, 2018 Use terms like “full size”, “NOT mini” (all caps for the word “not”) or “7/16 mounting hole” as part of your search terms on auction and sales sites. That should weed out the minis.
Guppy Posted September 27, 2018 Author Posted September 27, 2018 Thanks for all of the suggestions. Very helpful! My Simpit Progress and Update Learn how to build a SimPit like mine: Follow my Blog here!
