Biga42 Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Is anyone capable to find a target at night? Or is just me?
Emmy Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Easily... Have you adjusted the brightness and contrast of the mfcd? Have you adjusted the LVL and Gain of the TGP? Nothing will be perfect by default. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://www.476vfightergroup.com/content.php High Quality Aviation Photography For Personal Enjoyment And Editorial Use. www.crosswindimages.com
eaglecash867 Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Not sure how realistic it is, but I also find that a little bit of extra distance from the target area helps with picking out hot targets that are among trees in WHOT. Biga42 Posted September 23, 2018 Author Posted September 23, 2018 Easily... Have you adjusted the brightness and contrast of the mfcd? Have you adjusted the LVL and Gain of the TGP? Nothing will be perfect by default. Is too bright..I check it out what you said. thanks
Eviscerador Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 The new deferred shading messed a bit with the MFCDs. They need a bit of tweaking both in day and night. Anyway with the BHOT I found that leaving the MFCD in night switch works perfect on night. I never use WHOT to be honest, with BHOT everything is just better. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

dononelson Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 Easily... Have you adjusted the brightness and contrast of the mfcd? Have you adjusted the LVL and Gain of the TGP? Nothing will be perfect by default. I've noticed that the only thing that changes when switching between WHOT & BHOT is the color of the crosshairs - the actual information doesn't seem to change at all, like it used to. Anyone else see this? Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
joca133 Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 Funny, for me the night mode on the panels make them even brighter. Its unusable for me. Like suggested, adjusting brightness and contrast, plus gain and level are the way to go.
Biga42 Posted October 9, 2018 Author Posted October 9, 2018 If you watch Recon Stewart videos on youtube, you realized that years ago was easier to find targets with the TGP
Emmy Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 I can see a clear difference between WHOT and BHOT provided I take the time to set up the screens and the TGP Gain. However, I don't find that BHOT offers much in the way of resolution of targets (but I haven't really tried it much over snow as I'm in NTTR and PG almost exclusively with our Squadron activities) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://www.476vfightergroup.com/content.php High Quality Aviation Photography For Personal Enjoyment And Editorial Use. www.crosswindimages.com
MasterZelgadis Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 Just made a night-mission on the Gulf map, and while testing the TGP image was ok...ish when you fiddle a bit with the gain. Could be better, but finding targets was definitely possible. "Sieh nur, wie majestätisch du durch die Luft segelst. Wie ein Adler. Ein fetter Adler." http://www.space-view.net

tintifaxl Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 As far as I remember the Gulf map is the only map where ED improved the night lighting? All other maps where to follow at a later time. Windows 10 64bit, Intel i9-9900@5Ghz, 32 Gig RAM, MSI RTX 3080 TI, 2 TB SSD, 43" 2160p@1440p monitor.
