How do I set up controls?

I am not imaging things when I login to the game and the controls for every aircraft work fine but the F18. I spend more time trying to fix them than I do flying the F18. Why is my throttle always working the rudders? I just don't fricken get it! The pisser is I can't fix it by going into the Controls Setup. I have the most popular set of controls used by DCS simmers, I have all TM Warthog HOTAS and Rudders and everything is the latest version! WTF is wrong? This has to be a bug and I can't be the only one seeing this. The one thing a Sim should be able to get right are the controls.

You are the only one experiencing it. Outside of the one update that wiped the keybinds for the Hornet, everything has been just fine control-wise.

You went into the axis controls and made sure the rudders was only rudders and brakes and joystick and throttle only for their roles? When the settings are erased I know they are reset with my rudders having throttle commands and throttle has rudders etc. But that is only if controls are deleted and started from scratch. I have the same controls as you.

Yes I have, I have checked and double checked. When I test in the controls screen everything reports back properly. But when I get in the cockpit, the throttle works the rudders, the slider works the throttle. I can' figure it out.

I checked control bindings and flew an A/A mission. Everything just fine. That's in Open Beta after yesterday's update.

throttle and rudder need to have the slider checkbox checked in Axis tuning I found to function properly. This also includes the Toe brakes if you have them.

Before buying the F18 module, and on the occasion of the promo week I wanted to test the F18, and, I have the same problem with my hotas warthog, with the difference that my rudder and my stick works well, but the registration of the different assigned command keys, they do not!:( if I change my plane everything comes back in order and the different config hotas work perfectly

maybe sound cilly, but did you program the wong f18 profile.

There are an f18c arcade, and f18c sim configuration.

 

Also do you maybe have some kind of software for your hotas system where you have programmed keys and stuff.. maybe you setup something that block dcs from working. On my old x52 if i had programmed the fire button in the joystick software then i could not use the same button inside of DCS.

( the only keys i programmed in dcs was UI zoom, and the joystick axis up/down/left/right ) everything els was done in the software.

 

Also in all profiles in my game, i have to manual delete all Axis commands since all joystick/hotas and other things always are setup to use the same std axis values.

 

 

 

Maybe try to reset the f18c settings page back to default.

This is normal (although it's ridiculous) behaviour when you first set up controls for a new module. If that's the only problem you have then you don't really have a problem.

 

In DCS World, Options / Controls you need to select the category "Axis Controls" and you will find that rudder, pitch, yaw, thrust etc are bound to (sometimes fictitious) axes on all your game controllers. You need to clear out the unwanted ones. All modules in DCS World bahave like this.

Do you play in "Game mode"? Because it only work in "Sim mode" and they does not seem to care about fixing it witch is bad. Not because the F18 need to be in game mode, it is very easy to use in "Sim mode", but if you want to fly certain modules in "game mode", the F18 will not work.
