And then turn them OFF in the cockpit with a Hotkey in any aircraft. So you have a frozen image in the mirrors (if they dont fold away), but much more FPS. Mostly about 20% more.

What is that hotkey? I searched for "mirror" in the control assignments but couldn't find anything.

Put a checkmark in Mirrors under the Gameplay tab.

Then in the individual aircraft module controller setup, assign a button to toggle mirrors on and off.

Obviously this would be for aircraft that have mirrors.

Sometimes I notice that when I'm moving my head around, distant objects move a bit with it, as if I was zoomed in. If you shake your head a distant cloud should remain stationary, but sometimes it doesn't .Is it because the headset is not at the right position?

That sounds more like a tracking issue.

Have you moved your sensors at all?

Might want to re-run sensor setup.

I re-run the setup and it still persists. As I move the headset on my head the amount of movement changes, that's why I thought I'm not wearing it properly.

So it appears the image is moving with you in your movements rather than you just turning your head inside the environment?

 

How many sensors and how do you have them plugged in?

It's when you turn your head around while zoomed in, only to a lesser extent. I have 2 sensors in USB 3 slots, they pass the test.

Ok yeah moving the head around whilst zoomed in does have some image movement issues in DCS. Same thing happens in IL-2 as well.

The problem is I get some of that movement when I'm not zoomed in.

look at something square, then turn your head left and right. if the square warps out of square then you need to reposition the headset on your head. you are not in the sweet spot.

Sorry, another inane question: I move my head position using CTRL+SHIFT+ NumPad, then when I'm happy I save by hitting right alt+ num 0. However, the next time I sit in that aircraft it's all back to default. What am I doing wrong?

I have not been able to get that to work either. So I just adjust my head position when I first get in my aircraft and re-center the VR view to get it where I want.

I just gave up and added it to my startup checklist :smilewink:
