Triggerhappy69 Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 :helpsmilie: After having learned to really love the Su-25A a couple of questions come to mind.. I can live with the lower graphic model it has (mostly because it doesn't wreck my Fps when we taxi three of us or more). But I miss having the autopilot (AP) features of the Su-25T. Not the attack-mode AP obviously.. I'm not even sure the Su-25A has that posibility.:music_whistling: But it does have "route-follow", "attitude-hold", and "return-mode".. All of whitch would have made the model even cooler to fly.! And not to mention the "go around mode" that makes the HSI point at the locked waypoint either from the pre-planned angle, OR at a 180 degree offset..! [ATTACH]11169[/ATTACH] How delightfull it would be to navigate in the "vanilla" with those small features.. So can you (or anyone) make it happen..!? Please..! Pretty Please..?! "But (504)Brewber said they were'nt friendly.. So I took'em out.!" [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
monotwix Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 The idea of remodeling the things you've mentioned probably do not worth the efort if the Su-25A do not have that feature. But the funy thing is that every one is asking ED for the planes to fly and what do we get is a helicopter wich is better than whatever, and than what are we grounded as fighter pilots now ha? It's like ED's piss take in my comprehension.:( However I don't dare to complain about the flyable helicopter becouse i'll fly down town in it. I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.
ED Team Glowing_Amraam Posted May 31, 2007 ED Team Posted May 31, 2007 Re-modelling the SU-25? Not gonna happen ;) ( just guessing, obvously..) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgJRhtnqA-67pKmQ3A2GsgA ED youtube channel https://www.facebook.com/glowingamraam My facebook page
monotwix Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 Su-25T didn't go that far either and it's a fact i guess it's probaly also worth mentioning that BS will be the last of Lock On series, as the theory goes wich is not so coulorefull for the fans i.e turbofans. Since Lock On has such graphical scenary and phisical dinamics it should go beyond the BS add-on with it's potencial and drop the tank concentration as there is so many other things to have fun with. Like for example it might not seem to be so much fun to fly a naval S-3B but hell yes it would be, given the two setter with the carrier- mission-operation, i presume that we know that, so what else can i say to the disappointment of the finishing touch? I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.
sp0nge Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 I think ED should release some of the tools to let us still tweak Lock On..like to add cockpit models, more skin slots, fix some bugs, etc. If they don't it will be letting this game die! :( Is breaking the laws of gravity illegal? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Weta43 Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 Sponge: Like Flanker ? or do you consider this a continuation of that series. If so - then how will this game die when the title changes & it's engine gets "upgraded" Triggerhappy69 Regarding the autopilot features for the vanilla 25. I thought I remembered someone from ED saying that the Su-25 had no autopilot & that this was why they removed all autopilot functions from this model ??? Yet here we have a description of the functions... Curious ( How did you get that image straight & without the pilots right leg obscuring the left of the panel? Did you find the texture in the FC files? .!?) Cheers.
Geier Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 Re-modelling of Su25's already doing by Skylark;) Also we expect a new DM which is similar to Su25T. But not a cockpit(((( You can see the screenshots:
ED Team Groove Posted May 31, 2007 ED Team Posted May 31, 2007 Hey Triggerhappy, where do you have this panel description from ? Is there more ? Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
Fox One Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 Standard Su-25 doesn't have autopilot IRL, but I have also said a few weeks ago that ED should at least get the RSBN-6S nav system like the real one with working control panel buttons and lights. If we look with what they had to deal with for BS, this should really be peanuts... My DCS videos
Triggerhappy69 Posted May 31, 2007 Author Posted May 31, 2007 No Autopilot..? Triggerhappy69 Regarding the autopilot features for the vanilla 25. I thought I remembered someone from ED saying that the Su-25 had no autopilot & that this was why they removed all autopilot functions from this model ??? Yet here we have a description of the functions... Curious ( How did you get that image straight & without the pilots right leg obscuring the left of the panel? Did you find the texture in the FC files? .!?) It's from a document i found on Check-Six I think..? It gives the description and function of just about every switch in the Su-25.. (even the right wall panel). I would post it, but with all the pics it's just to big a file.. PM me and I'll send it if you want it.. "But (504)Brewber said they were'nt friendly.. Triggerhappy69 Posted May 31, 2007 Author Posted May 31, 2007 ... OH MY GOD..! That is just beautifull..! Where can i get my hands on it.? "But (504)Brewber said they were'nt friendly.. So I took'em out.!" [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Geier Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 ... OH MY GOD..! That is just beautifull..! Where can i get my hands on it.? It is still in process. We expect this model in the BS. But nobody knows exactly
VapoR Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 Remind me to upload it to your folder on the server next time we're on TS mate.. !:joystick: Whoa hold on here!! Share the love for the rest of us, too! I would love to see the full diagram . . .
Triggerhappy69 Posted June 9, 2007 Author Posted June 9, 2007 After carefull consideration.. And a second look.. It seems (from the document) that the Su-25A does NOT have an Autopilot. :music_whistling: However the NAV-Panel does open for some cool new ways to set the HSI (ref. "Go-Around mode" left or right plus "Enroute" and "Enroute + 180 degrees") All of which are just ways the Nav instrumets display the planned route, and maybe values that can be exported/imported? And the "Attitude hold" function seems to be an option as well? Any posibility of adding it to the 25A (just as the good old "A" key command)? Are these things that it would be possible to add to the Su-25A as a Mod..? Having little or none (at least no sucsessfull) experience with modding, I ask you "Mod-Masters" out there...?:helpsmilie: "But (504)Brewber said they were'nt friendly.. So I took'em out.!" Alfa Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 Re-modelling of Su25's already doing by Skylark;) Also we expect a new DM which is similar to Su25T. But not a cockpit(((( As far as I am aware the Su-25 in FC already has both AFM and damage model similar to the Su-25T - it is just that the old 3D model doesn't support it(lacks damage parts/animations)....e.g. you can blow the front tire and feel the effect, but from external view the wheel will appear intact. JJ
sp0nge Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 Sponge: Like Flanker ? or do you consider this a continuation of that series. The flanker issue is a pretty big problem.. But I still reckon we should be given SOME extra tools to add to the game after ED pack it up. Is breaking the laws of gravity illegal? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
DPS Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 It would be nice to see some movement/development with Lock On. How long has it been now since FC came out? Nearly two years? And that was just an additional type. Other games, such as IL2 and FS seem to be pretty good at reinventing themselves. There seems to be a quality, third-party add-on for MSFS every other month. Come on ED, you've got to keep the momentum up. DPS.

GGTharos Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 The AFM was 'just an additional type'? The new network code was 'just an additional type'? ... A reworked sound engine? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Force_Feedback Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 The AFM was 'just an additional type'? The new network code was 'just an additional type'? ... A reworked sound engine? Compared to $60 add-on packages made with freeware tools and released as soon as possible so the fans can go all 'wow, I can turn 10% of the knobs in the 3d pit', while still having a 'hypothetical' flight model. I say let the chopper come and blast away those FSX flight models. BTW, you don't get real working weapons in msfs(I don't count those 'explosion effect' mods). Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
EscCtrl Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 BTW, you don't get real working weapons in msfs(I don't count those 'explosion effect' mods). Yeah why is that? I would have thought with all the people working on making complex mods that install within the fsx code in complex ways that someone would have figured out how to add weapons and damage models. Or is it that no one wants guns and fighting in a civilian flight simulator?
Geier Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Or is it that no one wants guns and fighting in a civilian flight simulator? We have the LO for this;)
Alfa Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 So, we're waiting for a new Su-25's model by Skylark;) Yup :) . ....it is just that the old 3D model doesn't support it(lacks damage parts/animations) Let me rush to excuse the word "just" there ;) - building a model to the standard(both accuracy and detail level) of Skylark's work, making a multitude of damage parts and then animate the whole thing is no trivial task :) . JJ

Of course:) That's a great work... P.S. It must be in the BS...without any condition:smilewink:
