Django Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Any updates on DCS 2.5 and hyperthreading ahead of the next bunch of Intel chips to be launched this month? The i7-9700K seems the best price vs match for DCS (???). Pilotasso Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 There should be no difference between the 9700k and the 8700k in gaming except if the game is not optimized to deal with logical cores like some do and everybody will freak out over that taking the wrong conclusions because both have practically the same gas in the tank. 8 physical cores VS 12 logical ones hmm. .

Mr_sukebe Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 Interesting claim from Intel, and for single threaded games like DCS, they’re right. Not sure their comments hold water if you’re talking about a game that supported multiple cores, when AMD sell a 16 core CPU. 7800x3d, 5080, 64GB, PCIE5 SSD - Oculus Pro - Moza (AB9), Virpil (Alpha, CM3, CM1 and CM2), WW (TOP and CP), TM (MFDs, Pendular Rudder), Tek Creations (F18 panel), Total Controls (Apache MFD), Jetseat
Django Posted October 11, 2018 Author Posted October 11, 2018 I'm still steering towards a 2700X build. I like the price to performance plus no need to manually OC. Perhaps there might be a small Ryzen price drop once the next bunch of Intel CPUs is out? The i7-9700X OCing results are perhaps worth waiting for.
