asparagin Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 Why does AA work again (since couple of updates ago) on 2.5 non-beta? Just curious, AA did not work properly in the last more than a year? Windsortheater Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 I assume you mean msaa? Or ssaa? VR or monitor? I didn't know it was broken. I am not using VR. Sent from my SHIELD Tablet K1 using Tapatalk
asparagin Posted October 18, 2018 Author Posted October 18, 2018 I´m currently on MSAA, I havnen´t tested SSAA. msalama Posted October 18, 2018 Posted October 18, 2018 The openbeta has had a working MSAA all the time, at least on my end. A driver/card settings thing? The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
FragBum Posted October 18, 2018 Posted October 18, 2018 AFAIK it's been working but tends to use a lot of CPU/GPU i.e. not as efficient as it was without deferred shading. I am able to run at MSAA = 4 (and have been for some time) if I am prepared to put up with 45fps in Rift and PD at 1.2. Irony here, just noticed it's been 9 months since I upgraded my GPU. Before DCS forced us to use Deferred Shading I could happily get 90FPS MSAA at 8 in Rift with 980Ti and CPU at 4.2Ghz, now with 1080Ti and CPU at 4.7 Ghz and MSAA at 4 I get 45FPS mostly and poorer Rift image quality, but that's progress I guess. :( Control is an illusion which usually shatters at the least expected moment. Gazelle Mini-gun version is endorphins with rotors. See above. Currently rolling with a Asus Z390 Prime, 9600K, 32GB RAM, SSD, 2080Ti and Windows 10Pro, Rift CV1. bu0836x and Scratch Built Pedals, Collective and Cyclic.
asparagin Posted October 18, 2018 Author Posted October 18, 2018 For me AA did not work properly since the release of nevada - MSAA or SSAA, And looking through the forum I was not alone. Thats why I was wandering what changed. MiG21bisFishbedL Posted October 18, 2018 Posted October 18, 2018 Are we talking ingame AA or driver applied AA? Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!
Mustang Posted October 18, 2018 Posted October 18, 2018 Ingame MSAA and SSAA options are working fine, but pretty sure that external AA methods are still non functional (with the exception of post processing AA methods like FXAA or SMAA)
