petsild Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 Recently redesigned the limits of the engine, but after the update 2.5.3.23788 cannot be engine damage. MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4, Kingston 3600 MHz 64 Gb, i5 12600K, Gigabyte RTX 4090, Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus,VKB NXT Premium.
petsild Posted November 9, 2018 Author Posted November 9, 2018 Unlimited engine performance persists in 2.5.3.23954! MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4, Kingston 3600 MHz 64 Gb, i5 12600K, Gigabyte RTX 4090, Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus,VKB NXT Premium.
Holton181 Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 So you are saying engine damage (fire) don't occur anymore when exceeding EGT limits? (haven't flown her for some time) Helicopters and Viggen DCS 1.5.7 and OpenBeta Win7 Pro 64bit i7-3820 3.60GHz P9X79 Pro 32GB GTX 670 2GB VG278H + a Dell PFT Lynx TrackIR 5
petsild Posted November 10, 2018 Author Posted November 10, 2018 Exactly :( MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4, Kingston 3600 MHz 64 Gb, i5 12600K, Gigabyte RTX 4090, Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus,VKB NXT Premium.
Sharkku Posted November 10, 2018 Posted November 10, 2018 I really don't hope they did this intentionally because noobs complained so much about the engine catching fire...
msalama Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 because noobs complained so much about the engine catching fire... Well it's probably just a bug still, because this is supposed to be a simulator of high accuracy and realism. And I'm sure no-one wants to undermine that... The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
petsild Posted November 11, 2018 Author Posted November 11, 2018 According the tests the engines  are affected on most modules. MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4, Kingston 3600 MHz 64 Gb, i5 12600K, Gigabyte RTX 4090, Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus,VKB NXT Premium.
msalama Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 So a system-wide bug, not a module glitch. Needs a fix from ED then. The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
petsild Posted November 21, 2018 Author Posted November 21, 2018 Still bad… no one cares about so seriou bug? MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4, Kingston 3600 MHz 64 Gb, i5 12600K, Gigabyte RTX 4090, Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus,VKB NXT Premium.
QuiGon Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 I do care as well! +1 Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
msalama Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 I just read elsewhere that the engine DM has been changed again, i.e. you can still fry it but it takes a lot more to do it, and according to those folks it's actually much nearer to its RL counterpart now in terms of usable power and the amount of collective you can pull. So maybe this is what you're seeing now? Mind that AFAIK nothing of this was ever mentioned in the changelogs but this is what people are saying regardless, although I've no idea whether it's true since I only fly the Hip nowadays myself. But that indeed is the word out there currently... The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
thrustvector Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 i don't know about immortal, she still catches fire and blows an engine if you push her hard
msalama Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 So either fixed or not faulty to begin with. Good to know. The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
thrustvector Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 well, I haven't had her for long, but I fly copters mainly....although I do own most, A10c being a fav. but on one pretty hard mission it took a while to do, as coaxing her above mountains and overburdened, the engine failed, and on 2 occasions caught fire, so to me there doesn't seem to be a problem
Quadg Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 the EGT limits on the huey were changed around the start of September. and no there was no notice for this. you do have a lot more power available now. you can do max power take offs and go straight up with a gunship load. you no longer need to mess about in ground effect chasing translational lift first. or fly at -20c to get more power with the anti icing off. My Rig: AM5 7950X, 32GB DDR5 6000, M2 SSD, EVGA 1080 Superclocked, Warthog Throttle and Stick, MFG Crosswinds, Oculus Rift.
petsild Posted December 2, 2018 Author Posted December 2, 2018 Now I feel like I'm in the arcade, this is the ETG solution correctly? MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4, Kingston 3600 MHz 64 Gb, i5 12600K, Gigabyte RTX 4090, Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus,VKB NXT Premium.
msalama Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Now I feel like I'm in the arcade, this is the ETG solution correctly? According to folks in the know it is, because the old EGT damage model was too sensitive and abrupt. And mind you that you can still fry the engine if you're not careful, so it's not arcade at all. The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
Quadg Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 the weak limits of before have made us better pilots :) before they brought in EGT limits and engine damage the limits used to be even lower still. (I used to fly to the EGT limit even though it did nothing) so this is the third time the huey has got more power since I got it in 2016. My Rig: AM5 7950X, 32GB DDR5 6000, M2 SSD, EVGA 1080 Superclocked, Warthog Throttle and Stick, MFG Crosswinds, Oculus Rift.
petsild Posted January 29, 2019 Author Posted January 29, 2019 Released several updates and the engine still can withstand extreme load. MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4, Kingston 3600 MHz 64 Gb, i5 12600K, Gigabyte RTX 4090, Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus,VKB NXT Premium.
