I didn't want to hijack the bug thread about the Mk82YT configuration "bug," but I want to know more about the differences between USN bombs and USAF bombs, as we would see them on the Hornet, and what ED's plans are for USN bombs.

So, to begin, let's look at the bombs we currently get in the Hornet and other aircraft:

Mk82 / MAU-93

Mk82 / Mk15 "Snake Eye"

Mk82 / BSU-49 "AIR"

As I understand it, these are USAF bombs, not USN bombs. Is this correct? From what I've seen of Navy jets, I see:

Mk82 / BSU-33

Mk82 / BSU-86 "Snake Eye"

Mk82 / BSU-85 "AIR"

You can see that DCS already has the BSU-33 and BSU-86 attachments, but we can't use them yet. The BSU-85, however, is not modeled. Are these planned in future releases?

P.S.: We have these pretty bois in the Bazaar too. Easily usable with some file name changes.

The model of the snake eye in the game is the BSU-86, not the MK-15. In 2001, the Navy did not use the BSU-85 MK-82, only the BSU-86 (82YT) and the mk-15 mod6/6a (82X/XT) MK-82.

I do not have the BSU-86 in game. A model for it exists in the Bazar folder, but when I attach Snake Eyes to any capable aircraft in game, I get the Mk-15 version. Please provide a screenshot of the BSU-86 from inside the game.

BSU-85 is for Mark 83

MAU-93/BSU-33 is just old/new, both used USN

Mark 15 tail used USN

BSU-86 not technically Snake Eye, just similar design

250 lb Mk 81 "Snake Eye-1" and 500 lb Mk 82 "Snake Eye-2" with believe Mark 14 and Mark 15 Tail Retarding Device respectively

Can you ID the tail attached to these Mk82s? They appear to be ballute retarded, but are different than the BSU-49

At first I thought they were Mk83/BSU-85, but they appear too small to be -83s.
