Chic Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 I'm an avid user of snap views in 2D. Recently, I have been dabbling with Oculus Rift but can't get the snap views to work. The Snap view will shift the image a bit but no where near the intended view. Any thoughts? Gizzy Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 (edited) Chic, SnapView in VR works by retaining any camera position within the limits of cockpit camera movement - up/down, left/right, forward/back. Headtracking (VIEW) then works from that camera position and is controlled by the HMD. In 2D SnapViews retain VIEW up / down / left / right as well as CAMERA VIEW. I often find VR SnapViews good for MFDs, GARMIN, TV, HUD, Head outside helo windows for cargos etc.. Edited November 11, 2018 by Gizzy

BUT I still cannot generate the snap view in VR, despite having no issues in 2D, and using the same procedure that others (Six) are having success with in VR. Sandman1330 Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 I’m getting motion sick just thinking about this.... I think what you are asking for would be extremely nausea inducing in VR. Gizzy Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 Strange one Chic... works fine my end... hit me on Discord sir if you wish... I’m getting motion sick just thinking about this.... Not in the slightest, think of it as adjusting the height or fore / aft of your chair or putting your head out of the window for cargo as in RL..
Chic Posted November 11, 2018 Author Posted November 11, 2018 Resolved. My Camera Move mappings (whch I have remapped) somehow reverted back to default settings. So I assumed that Camera move option was not available in VR. Cheers Gizz.
