Gunhawk Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 (edited) Hi, I gost a strange problem. Although I have managed it earlier, I think I am no longer able to start Hot/Cold from Parking/Ramp at carrier. When I set a Hornet flight to start/land on carrier, it just did not show up until I explicitely select take off from runway Thus said if I select Ramp/Parking, the plane does not show up at all. And yes late activation is not on. I believed I got this working earlier, but I unfortunately don't have the mission file any more. Regards Gunhawk PS: When switching from Player to Client so that I get the slot on mission start to select, it says your flight is delayed to start - which isn't actually true as it is set to 8:0:0/0Hornet_Takeoff_Ramp_Carrier.miz Edited November 23, 2018 by Gunhawk Cornfimed I CAN Reproduce this
Gunhawk Posted November 23, 2018 Author Posted November 23, 2018 Update: I can reproduce this and can provide a mission file. I also tested it with latest Beta with same result. Gunhawk

Gunhawk Posted November 24, 2018 Author Posted November 24, 2018 Use the Stennis, not the Carl Vinson. LOL Thanks I wasn't aware that the other carrier doesn't work
feefifofum Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 It was never updated; used to be planes would only spawn directly on the catapult like we see in the Kuznetsov. If I were to speculate there is probably some interaction between the new carrier code and the Carl Vinson that blocks ramp starts due to all the static objects lining the elevators. :dunno: In any case, use CVN-74 and you should be good to go! I know I am ressurecting an old post but is it possible to do it on the Kuznetsov too? I do believe I saw some Grim Reapers videos with many su33 parked with folded wings and doing cold start, but I can't seem to do it.

If you try to place more (placing 3 as runway start and 3 for parking hot) the aircrafts end up colliding each other. Rudel_chw Posted September 30, 2019 Posted September 30, 2019 Oh boy. ok, thanks. If you are crafting a multiplayer mission, simply add a 2nd or third carrier onto the fleet, that workaround will allow you to have enough player slots for the Su33 For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

I was imagining more how to have the planes start in a cold start, wings folded, parked position instead of on the launch spots with wings stretched and ready to go.
Rudel_chw Posted September 30, 2019 Posted September 30, 2019 But if following your example, having 3 planes for ai and 3 planes for client, will them all appear on the same carrier or distributed? It's up to the Mission designer how he distributes the planes, the slots on each Soviet carrier are numbered PRK 1, 2 and 3; you decide which aircraft goes on which slot, like this one, on Slot PRK 2: I was imagining more how to have the planes start in a cold start, wings folded, parked position instead of on the launch spots with wings stretched and ready to go. On the Su-33 you can get a cold start using the type "Take Off from Ramp", but the aircraft will still appear over one of the three launch positions. Only the Stennis has true Ramp positions away from the catapults, but the Russians cant have a Stennis on their fleet :( For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
