Hi, ran into this one during night flying today (open beta). See screen shots, what I get is the light on the nose wheel lights up but casts no illumination. Happened after a long-ish flight and was then reproduced with a cold start.

Edit - OK on hindsight it is not easy to see anything in those screenshots, but this should be a pretty easy one to check and reproduce if it is a bug.

Actually, I'm brining this up again. The landing light worked at the start on a longish (maybe 3 hour) multiplayer session but at the end when a buddy and I landed it wouldn't work for either of us. I think there's a bug there but at the moment all I have to go on to reproduce is "fly for a long time" and I get that that is not helpful.

I don't think the landinglights has ever functioned.

The TAXI-lights are working however, but they are not useful for landing.

There are two landinglights way up in the front landinggearbay that has not ever been working.

I hope to see a change here soon.

Haven't tried the Viggen at night yet to check on the landing lights, but in external view they are not lit, only the taxi light...

It does shine on the ground, even if the bulb is not shown to be lit.  Try it at night and you'll see.  In fact you can just spawn on the ground and cycle the switch between Taxi and Landning and see how the light pattern changes.  But the angle of the landing light unfortunately is not extremely helpful for the landing approach.  The angle may be a bug, and has been previously reported and logged.

Just checked taxi vs. landing lights - for me the light pattern doesn't change one tiny bit. Taxi light is the very same as landing lights, which would explain why the landing lights do not light up in external view when they should, while the taxi light does, when it shouldn't.

The illumination pattern does change between TAXI and TILL, but very slightly. The two landing lights are angled far too much downward, which render them close to useless when landing. I've estimated them (there's only one in DCS right now) to be between 6 and 10 degrees too low. They're pretty good at lighting up the ground below you if you have a wingman coming in behind you though. 😄

The issues above is as @Machalot mentioned is that the landing lights are missing the "glow" texture in front of them when on.
And the fact they are angled down too much.
