Nightsniper_1 Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 I was wondering if we will be able to switch to the RIO pit in single player or in multiplayer if we don’t have anyone flying with you? If we can, would it work like the Huey does when you switch to the gunner seat? Thanks i5-7600k @ 3.8 GHz, Strix 1050ti OC, 16 GB 2666 MHz DDR4 Ram, Corsair H110i, 500 GB Samsung 860 EVO SSD, Windows 10 64-bit, Track IR-5, Saitek X-56 F-15C, A-10C, F-5, M-2000C, UH-1H, F-86F, AV-8B, F/A-18C, F-14 A&B, F-16, F-15E, F-4E, P-47, Tornado, F-111, Mirage F-1, A-29 :pilotfly: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Knubinator Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 You should be able to in single player, but you cannot do that in multiplayer. Something about how the game recognizes the player, you have to select your spot on spawn. i7 4790k @ 4.4, 32GB RAM, RX480 GTR I fly it all.
Zoomer Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 Yes, there will be an AI pilot in single player (as said). How good is another story. I would likely avoid canyon runs with the AI at the stick.

Nosferatuwhisky 1-1 Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 the AI pilot will be very basic only, so probably just flying waypoints, think of it as autopilot, not a real pilot, thats my impression anyway. "Chops"

It might be just in the Huey where the AI-pilot can only hold course (like a simple autopilot). Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
Dudikoff Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 (edited) But, since the F-14 does have an autopilot which can both hold course or even follow the route (if I understand correctly what GT is), is there really a Pilot AI as such or simply the AP is triggered once you switch to the backseat? If they really implement some sort of Pilot AI, I'd expect some basic commands would be available to the RIO to issue (altitude, speed setting, waypoint switch, perhaps even some escort target, etc.). QuiGon Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 I guess we will have to wait and see. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

From what I understand, GT (Ground Track) will keep you on your current ground tracking path in the event of cross winds and the like. I don't think it will follow waypoints. chokko Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 if you're the RIO in multiplayer, and the pilot drops out of the game for whatever reason, will MrAutopilot takeover ? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

I don't think it will follow waypoints. (I could be completely wrong too) The ground track destination could be one of the waypoints as well, but yeah, I guess it's not the proper route following mode. I saw one of the earlier posts mention GT and route and I posted before checking it in the NATOPS myself. i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg.
