Baz000 Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 Had a very strange problem last night in multiplayer, where I couldn't get Vertical scan mode working unless the HMD rotary was turned off... It didn't matter which air to air weapon I had selected, it was still the same result. the normal way of going to vertical scan was to select radar and then press up on sensor select switch to go into ACM boresight mode and then press down for vertical scan. works fine as long as HMD rotary is turned off, with the HMD rotary turned on it shows a mode starting with a HA (AAQ?) anyways, vertical scan won't work unless you are already in it with HMD rotary turned off and when rotating the HMD rotary it then displays. Also, I found how to get into it with HMD turned on was to go sensor select switch to the left for wide AQ and then SS switch down and then vertical scan would come up. Not sure if this is bug or an intended feature of using the HMD in the Hornet but my intuition tells me more than likely its a bug.
Sandman1330 Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 If you have the HMD on, the other HUD based ACM modes like VACQ and boresight become unnecessary. With the HMD on, you get HACQ, which gives you a dotted circle that you can use to lock up the bandit anywhere within gimbal limit simply by looking at it. Baz000 Posted January 13, 2019 Author Posted January 13, 2019 but is that an intended feature? IE: the real jet works that way? Or not... That is the question...
jaguara5 Posted January 14, 2019 Posted January 14, 2019 Currently in game, you can select VACQ with HMD enabled if you first select WACQ. So castle switch left (WACQ selected) and then down (VACQ selected). Don't know if its a feature or a bug
