Nealius Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 I'm just starting to use GBUs with AUTO bombing, and I keep running into an issue with the HUD designator inexplicably moving between passes. The targets are marked by smoke for easy designation. 1st pass: Put the diamond on the smoke, fly the cues, release, kill. 2nd pass: Diamond is still on the previous target, slew it to the next smoke, fly the cues, computer wants me to release 1-2nm after I've passed the target. 3rd pass: Diamond is not where I designated it on the 2nd pass. Reset, redesignate, fly the cues, release, kill. Is this normal, or am I forgetting something after slewing to a new target on the 2nd pass?
Nealius Posted January 27, 2019 Author Posted January 27, 2019 So the ground-stabilization of the AUTO target diamond is WIP/buggy? I place the diamond here: Overfly the target but note that the countdown timer does not make logical sense given my distance, circle back around, and find that the diamond has somehow ended up here: That's what....nearly 5nm off of where I initially put it?
razo+r Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 It's a bug, the designator moves when you maneuver the aircraft if the HUD is SOI.
Nealius Posted January 27, 2019 Author Posted January 27, 2019 Ah. What's the best workaround for LGBs, then? Will designating the target, then switch SOI to something else work, or will switching SOI undesignate the target?
