Is there a way to copy triggers from one map to another.

I see you can save static templates but I don't think that saves the triggers so you can reload into another theater. :(

@BoneDust

If you learn scripting, you'll have all methods available for any mission...forever

Copy/paste this bit from here, copy/paste the other bit from there, done!

The time and effort it takes to learn scripting is nothing compared to the time and effort you'll waste every time you need to create a complex mission from scratch using ME.

Static Templates are Map specific, you cant load on Nevada one ST made in Caucasus.

I ported the entire VFA-113 Stingers mission over to the Persian Gulf map for them a while back. Decompile the mission, lots of work with excel and the coordinates and then rezip it together.

For that mission, it was quicker than redoing the triggers (a lot of triggers!).

That's exactly what I'm trying to do is port the 113 Stingers very cool LSO calls over to the Persian Gulf.

That's pretty interesting!

Have you thought about creating a tutorial on how to do this? I think many people around here would appreciate it!

Here Grimes explained a couple of ways to do this type of copy:

Reducing units to the bare minimum and make sure you are not removing anything that is used in triggers then it is possible. I moved a mission from Caucasus map to Nevada map once but it is hard work. You have no tools to help in the move. Using Excel or google sheet for reference on main units is a good idea. You need a plan on how to add the new coordinates for all units but you can mostly do everything with just replacing the 2 first sections of the location. I just made a simple mission with 4 units in on roughly I wanted the moved units to show up and adjusted the location to match these. You need to work on several versions of your new mission of course so you don't destroy the main mission. Also, you need to work using Notepad++

It was easier to rebuild it in the Persian Gulf. I had to make some adjustments, but it only took 2 hours and I scripted in respawning SAR helo, S3B, and E3D as a template.

I have no problem sharing it as long as the 113 fellas don't mind because I kept a couple of their voice calls.

I also have ATC scripted for Kobuleti is anyone is interested. I don't mind sharing work. :)

cheers

I'd love to take a look at it .. it's only for multiplayer or can be used on single player too?

I'm mostly OK with the standard ATC of DCS, but I dont like that it says nothing when the taxiways are in use and you request permission to taxi; it would be so much better if it just answered "taxiways occupied, hold" and then contacted back once the taxiways are free.

Best regards

It is for both MP and SP. I'll put it in the DCS downloads. It only works for Kobuleti and does tell you to hold short etc.

I uploaded it to the DCS user files site. Should be active in a day or so. Just look for Kobuleti ATC with voice.
