Help on Mission 6 Targets

Been trying to pass this one for over a week. Each time I get a little closer but my wingman does some stupid stuff or he ejects.

 

A few times when I ask him to engage air defenses he says he is going to but ends up attacking I don't know what as the sams are still a threat.

 

This time I asked him to engage ground targets with guided bombs and he got one building while I got the other two.

 

Then I asked him to engage air defenses with missile and he ejected.

 

For success what are the main threats? I tried taking out the convoy but lost track with the tgp when attempting a run through with the Maverick. I soon got shot down. I've seen some videos on YouTube and I've tried to follow along but in those videos the wingman is actually helpful.

 

Are the trucks and buildings the two things I should just focus on or is there a trick somewhere I am missing?

 

I'm using mark points to Mark echo 2 which is very helpful but each time I try to give it a go something else happens where wingman either doesn't listen or is constantly attacking targets without hitting anything.

Hey! First of all focus on the convoy - if they get to Echo, you will loose. Then the three buildings. Wingman lately sucks (that is a general AI issue) but he normally is pretty OK for taking out mortars (attack artillery) and sometimes AAA (don’t use specific orders, just general - attack air defences, attack utility vehicles etc). If you take out the convoy and then the buildings you should be fine!

That's helpful! I was trying to focus on multiple things. The buildings are the first thing is I can get to. I figured out where the convoy is coming from so I should be able to get them.

Do not underestimate the power of the brrrrrt! set the wingnut on air defences, or blast those yourself then brrrt everything else. I ended that ride with only about 300 rounds left in the tank!

I was completely out of everything by the end of that mission, lol. Despite the fact that it’s still an early mission, the amount of targets you have to deal with is insane. But yeah, the hog’s gun is awesome.

I tried again today and got closer. Took two buildings out then I had wingman take out the AA and the mortars. I failed to get the convoy though. I think the BTR made it through but I got the two other trucks.

 

It's difficult because sometimes the wingman behaves erratically due to the AI but I think I'll have to just focus on getting that convoy before they get overtaken.

 

It's just a bit harder to do in VR because it's difficult to see where the vehicles are and the terrain can be a bit of a challenge. I too was also out of gun ammo by the time it came to use the jtac. Hopefully I pass it soon.
