Rocky49 Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 I'm feeling stupid because I can't figure out how to use the Jester AI. I have the Opening command A assigned to my Throttle and Commands 1 to 8 assigned to my 8 way hat also. I fly using an Oculus Rift. I have selected the special option for the F14B so that my VR "lights up" where on the Wheel I am looking. So say I am Looking at slice 3, do I use my 8 way hat to select it? or should it be selected if I look at it for a period of time? redcoat22 Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 I was wondering this as well. The wheel lights up when I look at it but the select key doesn’t always work. How did they intend people in VR use this?
609_Relentov Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Whatever key you use to bring up Jester (e.g. "A" key, or in my case a button on the throttle), once the wheel comes up and you move your head (assuming Track IR, for example) to point the line that comes out of the center of the wheel to one of the wheel slices, just hit that same key (e.g. "A") to select that slice/command. Also (assuming using Track IR), if you don't point to one of the slices (e.g. leave your Track IR/head centered) and hit the Jester (i.e. "A") key, you can "drill down" to the next level of Jester commands. Keep hitting the Jester key (while your Track IR/head centered) and eventually it'll close the wheel. Not sure if that helps given your way of invoking the Jester wheel, that's just how I invoke it.
smallberries Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 Is it just me or is there no binding to make the wheel disappear if you inadvertently select it, or otherwise don't want to make a selection? It seems this would be helpful, instead of having to proceed through the wheel options and find a greyed out direction.
Rocky49 Posted March 19, 2019 Author Posted March 19, 2019 (edited) just depress the button you are using to select Jester (key is A) a second time and it disappears 609: thanks for your assist. Frees up a 8 way button!!! Funkysak Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 An even better option is to use voice attack & Vaicom Pro. "Now how do I land this thing?" *Sound of pages turning*
Rocky49 Posted March 19, 2019 Author Posted March 19, 2019 An even better option is to use voice attack & Vaicom Pro. Tried it a few years ago Didn't like it. It was hard to set up and had lots of issues. I'm sure it has improved a lot but I'm an old Dog:music_whistling: System:Motherboard Asus ROG Strix Z390-E,Asus ROG GeForce RTX 2080Ti OC, GPU, 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 Ram, Intel i9 9900K @ 5 GHz , cooled by NZXT Kraken X52, Acer XB270HU G-Sinc monitor, Windows 10 Pro, Warthog joystick and throttle with wasy extension, VBK Gunfighter Pro and MCG Pro,MFG Rudder, running on a dedicated 1TB Samsung 970 Pro M2 Nvme , Super Wheel Stand Pro, with a HP Reverb G2
Sephroth Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 I just setup the navigation commands with voice attack and it's awesome. Telling jester to select steerpoint 1 and having him say Roger back is pretty cool. Really helps in VR as I use it for launching the car with the salute command. Sent from my SM-T827V using Tapatalk
captflyby Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 I cannot bring up Jester in the pilot seat. I have to jump to the RIO seat to see the jester wheel. Am I doing something wrong?

Bind the Jester button, the controls are separate for front and back and you've probably not bound it in the front.
jcbak Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 I wish there was an option to use the mouse. Weed89 Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 i do EXACTLY as you say..but Nothing :( will NOT ( select) by pressing the key bound to "A" the one that opens the menu...very hair pulling !! PLUS i can ZOOM IN in the front cockpit to reas/see switches..BUT the same stick bindings do NOT work in the back seat!!! i can NOT see/ read WHAT weapons are selected on the rotory selector dial.... Arrrrgggggggg...none of this should be so DAMN DIFFICULT to set up!!
Q3ark Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 There are separate key binding for the front and rear seats, the cockpits are too different for them the share the same setup. It’s not that hard.
