dave76
guys i found strange that a clean tomcat, no external stores is reaching no more than 1.2 mach at more than 40000ft(also if i was climbing )....also there are no glove vanes implemented coming out root wings to counter tuck under :(:(........what does tomcat natops manual says on performance? Harlikwin
Glove vanes were disabled at some point in its life. So no vanes for the f14B. I've done like mach 2.1 or 2.2 at 40k, not climbing. New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1) Old-N-busted: i7 4720HQ ~3.5GHZ, +32GB DDR3 + Nvidia GTX980m (4GB VRAM) :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, Rift CV1 (yes really). MurderOne
B-cats never had glove vanes, they were also disabled on A-cats around 1980 or so. Sorry, no cool signature here.

fat creason
Max mach in level flight in the F-14B is around 37,000 ft. Top speed may be slightly off in current release version but is currently being re-tuned after some other adjustments had to be made immediately prior to release last week. yogipol
Good to know as I thought It's only me not being able to go above Mach 1 with some missiles having onboard. yogipol
OK, so I made test flight. I was flying at 37.000ft with AP engaged in ALT HOLD mode. Weather CAVOK, no wind. Loaded with 4xAIM-54, 2xAIM-7,2xAIM-7M, 2xAIM-9L, Fuel onboard 12.400Lbs. Wings is AUTO. Using full thrust I couldn't go faster then 0.98. The whole fuselage shakes a lot but that is probably becouse of going from subsonic to supersonic flight. Krag6
Are your slats forward? That increases drag by a lot.
yogipol
No, the slots are retracted. HP Reverb, Intel I7 9700K, Zotac GTX 2080Ti, 32GB Ram @4000Mhz Corsair, SDD M.2 500GB Samsung 970 PRO
fat creason
Haven’t tested with that loadout. ED controls missile drag and you have a massive amount of missiles so it’s hard to comment on what top speed would be with that configuration. Test with 4 AIM-7, 4 AIM-9 and no tanks and report back. Should be able to easily get above M 2.0. Systems Engineer & FM Modeler Heatblur Simulations
yogipol
Ok, so I was able to reach 1.75 and then ran out of fuel ;-) The acceleration takes a while...but just like You said before, it would be tweaked ;-) Edited April 3, 2019 by yogipol HP Reverb, Intel I7 9700K, Zotac GTX 2080Ti, 32GB Ram @4000Mhz Corsair, SDD M.2 500GB Samsung 970 PRO
