Shalomar Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 I wish on the special menu for the F14 that there was the option to enable Human RIO as observer mode. That way a human can sit in the back seat while the pilot interacts with Jester. This would enable less experienced pilots to be in advanced missions and see the cool graphics without the learning curve at first. Anyone second the motion??? Donald Good idea? Terrible idea???
Cake Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 This is a cool idea, but why limit it to Jester? Why not be able to sit in and observe any slot? 6700K@4.6 48Gb - 1080Ti Hybrid - Warthog - RIFT
Shalomar Posted March 23, 2019 Author Posted March 23, 2019 Good Idea... I didn't think of that, Heatblur is working on Pilot AI too. I won't change the poll but I would enjoy some joyrides in the front seat too... Donald

Snacko Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 I was thinking this same thing yesterday as I was in VR. What if you could export the RIO as a Viewport to another monitor. But that will never happen. USA_Recon Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 I recommend observing Jabbers videos, they are well done, then hop in the seat and learn.
OnlyforDCS Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 Brilliant idea. A spectator mode would be absolutely great. I do wonder though, this probably falls under the purfiew of Eagle Dynamics as it would be something that would have to be hard-coded into the engine itself. Feel like this would be really hard to implement. A101Wayz Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 By spectator, do you mean someone who hasn't purchased the module? Or, someone with the F-14 module who just wants to sit in the back seat as an observer and watch what controls Jester manipulates to gain experience in the back seat? I think the idea of an observer without the module would be a great selling tool for the F-14... But, it would need to carry the same restrictions on who sits back there as selecting a RIO. i.e. someone would have to request and be accepted by the pilot.
